As a GHS fan we are starting a petition for BCHS to keep Esters as the head coach. But I was really disappointed this morning when he didn't do his radio show because there is alway's something stupid going to come out of his mouth, like we lost by 40 but the better team didn't win.it was like when a microphone was put in his face something ignorant was alway's going to come out.but please keep coach Esters for GHS sake.

i did not start this post to down grade coach esters. this was started to get others to tell what they thought about the other coaches and the way things are done there as far as players go and fact of trying something different every once in a while. Not wanting to know about other schools for my son plays at Barren.

You will never win until the board, teachers, and parents get out of the way and let the coach, COACH!!!! Not saying Esters is the greatest, but he isn't a bad coach. He needs to play the best players and not be forced to play who the board, teachers or parents with power want. I guarentee if you folks tried to do Johnny Vance the way you are doing Esters your kids would be off the team. Let the man get his own assistants and not be forced to have to use the ones he has because none of them ever won at football either. And as far as Glasgow goes, the players that play is determined by Larry Glass and his money. He controls everything that goes on in that athletic program. He got Hall fired because his son Conner didn't like him and wasn't going to play basketball. Wood is one of the worst coaches that I have ever seen, the only games he can win are the ones that he supposed to. He isn't smart enough to win against a team tthat is equal or better than them

Johnny Vance is done the same way, he just warns the kids he knows should be playing to find somewhere else to play cause the deserve to.

Coach Hall was scared of Glass, But in football it's probably causing his kid's from being QB.both of his kid's are as good or better than the starter but, sense he work's for Glass he just want bench him.as for Wood not being a good coach,he has pulled plenty of upset's,he really has his kid's prepared for must team's,it's the in game change's that he has trouble with. But at time's I still think Cassidy would be a better coach.Either way Barren is just in a bad situation, and it's not going to get better anytime soon.

How about letting God's gift to football Coach Lawson of the mighty little league cowboys take it? I mean, he can take a priviliged group of kids, pick and choose his own all star team, and beat the crap out of everyone else all year long, in the process running off many kids from the Barren County program. All of this in the name of his precious record and reputation. BUT, when he is asked to play a team that would be him, like Glasgow's travel team, he is too much of a coward to play because he knows he would get spanked.

What I am saying is that for this program to improve, we need to fix it from the bottom up. That starts with fixing our little league, and teaching kids to play football together, and not simply playing to inflate a "has been's" ego. I had the experience of being around this program, and recently, when I have heard of his continued tactics to win at all costs...it just angered me to see our program continue to suffer for his glory.

Lawson, if you are not a coward, go apply to coach the big boys. Then we will see how good you are when you have to play on a level playing field.

Lawson is a coward. He would never coach at the high school level because he could not stack his teams and refuse to play teams he knows he cannot beat. Well, he may coach a catholic school, they can recruit.

well said with alot of truth. fix it from the bottom up. for years i was part of the little league in one form or another and seen first hand how the league was stacked in favor of the cowboys from illegal recruiting tactics (lawson and the goon squad) to the stacking of the board (the basham era)with cowboy parents. the cowboys seem to get what they want, when they want, how they want with total disregard to other teams, players, parents and supporters. The win at all cost is not the way of teaching these kids the fundamentals they need to be successful on the field in high school. it's whats drilled into their heads at the little league level by the goon squad that is their downfall. Now with that being said, let move onto the fact that not all kids are cut out for sports. while there are a few that have true tallent needed to shine, the well to do parents, teachers, school officials that have kids that play need to keep their threats, and noses out of what the coach is trying to do. every child that walks out onto the fields of sports deserve a chance to play....period!!!!!! Kids with true heart, desire, and tallent are not trying out because of the b.s. politics of the so called wanna be ("hey look at me") people that stick their noses into cracks where they don't belong, try to run the coaches into a position of play my kid or else i'll make sure that you are gone. their is an old saying, if it floats like a turd, looks like a turd, and smells like a turd.....IT'S A TURD!!!!!!. I dare you to get rid of all of the little coaches and get new ones, level the playing field so every child has an equal chance and adopt a policy of absolutely no inside or outside political interference from anyone and just let the coaches coach.

Just making a few corrections here: He has applied every time the position comes up and the reason I am told he does'nt get the coaching job is because how him and his present wife met. 2ndly the 3 yrs my son played for lawson. The only time Glasgow would play us is if they thought they had an unstopable team. But we still won. We played Bowling green teams, Monroe co teams. any and all teams that wanted to play. Sometimes we won, sometimes we lost. No big deal. Now with my son as a freshmen at BCHS, I would love to see someone come in and show these boys that BCHS can be competative in football. They work hard yr round and they deserve to be proud of their hard work and of being a trojan. Also my son questioned us about transfering to GHS prior to his Freshmen yr to play there because of their football program. Now even after a losing varsity season, he is glad he did'nt. Due to GHS not having enough players for a freshmen team and only playing one JV game then canceling all JV games. Our varsity team did'nt have a winning season but he got to play varsity, Jv, and freshmen. Thats better for him, than sitting on GHS side lines and never stepping on field. So I guess what I am trying to say is there's pros and cons to all. But I would like to see a positive turn around to BCHS program.

Roger, I appreciate everything you did for my son, as a Cowboy. You and your coaches gave him strong fundamentals that helped him move through the ranks at Barren co. Unfortunately the teaching digressed his last 6 years. Continue teaching these boys the importance of sportsmanship. And just ignor these petty, jealous parents and coaches .

Its still the same old program that we've seen for 30 years. Until you get rid of the mindset behind BC football there will NOT be a successful program. You can't tell me that in the last 30 years the athletes haven't been there. BC has had some tremendous athletes over the years but since the gameplan was the same old predictable plan that has been in place since Eubank was there it was never a winner.

You are partly correct...you do play all of those teams, and the way Lawson angles it, it seems kosher. But, everyone knows what he has is essentially the Barren County all star team...he picks what players he wants. He will ONLY play regular season teams from other leagues. He has been invited numerous times to play the Glasgow travel team. I know for a fact that the Cowboys were scheduled to play the Glasgow travel team this weekend in Campbellsville, and he threatened to pull out of the tourny if they did not change it. I have seen both teams play...the result would be the same as GHS-BCHS varsity games each year.

People can defend him all they want, but the proof is all there. The Barren County program sucks, and the highlight of a BC football player is in 6th grade playing for a stacked team. Lawson is a coward...plain and simple. I also got a text from a Glasgow parent after that game in Campbellsville tonight...and told me that after their game, Lawson was having his pictures taken with both trophies...just him and the trophies. I have never even heard of a little league coach doing that. It is just pathetic. Really.
