does anyone know of any places that are helping to get kids something for christmas? the angel tree at the salvation army said they stopped taking names nov 7th. my husband was layed off work. and i am a stay at home mom( due to health reasons beyond my control) i can't work. so we don't have any income, except unemployment insurance but it is just enough to pay the bills and he has been putting in applications for work but none of the factories are hiring right now and we have one small child under age 2. and with the check he does get from unemployment it barely pays the bills and buys food. so if anyone on here knows of anyone or any place that is helping to get kids something for christmas it would be greatly appreciated. thanks for any info.

he will be 2 next week. and he does not go to any schools or day care. he stays home with me . and he is a boy he wears 3 Toddler in shirts and pants and his favorite toys are mostly balls.and mickey mouse stuff. his granny got him a new coat and shoes. so mostly just winter type shirts and pants and balls is what we had planned on getting him before his dad got layed off from work. i have never in my life had to ask anyone for help i am in no way saying we are to good to ask just saying we have never tried to abuse the system just in a hard place right now with his little birthday and christmas both fastly approching and not enough income to be able to buy for him right now and be able to also keep a roof over his head and food in his little belly so we are doing the rigt thing by keeping the bills paid and buying food. so thats the reason we can't afford his gifts this year. i know there are plenty of kids in need all year long and especially around the holidays so all i am asking for is a place that is willing to buy him a few gifts so he will have something to open for christmas

i got a yahoo email address it is proudmommyof1son@yahoo.com you all can reach me there. i will not name some of the places i have contacted because i am not one to bad mouth anyone but i did contact a few churches and other places people have told me to contact and was told because he will be 2 they could not help him because they only help older kids who are in school.. like i said by no means am i here to bad mouth or degrade people or bussinesses but i thought Christmas was for little ones and to remember the reason for the season JESUS CHRIST's birth. so since when did little ones under school age become so low on the pole that older kids were more important. i always thought older kids would understand parents can't afford everything alot better than a little one could. i hope i don't offend anyone on here but i hope some parents read this and agree that a small child would appercaite seeing a few gifts under a tree than teenagers would just imo maybe when he is older i will see it the way some of the churches and other organizations in the area do that older kids are more important about getting gifts than small kids are.. i just feel hurt over it all.. thanks so much to those of you who have commented on my topic ..mommy

I'M sorry to hear about your situation, I have been there before myself. Except I had 2 little girls and I had no way of getting them anything. I cant remeber the place that helped me cause it has been quite a few years ago. I will ask my daughter if she knows of any places, she works in the system now. I will post on here again when I ask her and let you know what she says. Again sorry to hear about your situation.

Im not sure if they do the "SHOP WITH A COP" around here but you may want to look into that. It does a great deal of good, they give you a set amount and they take you and the child to get clothes, shoes toys, and want not...hopefully that will help and maybe theyll get you in there sweety

I really hate to hear of anyone having a "slim christmas" but you know who isnt have one this year. I don't want to sound like a scruge or anything but a slim christmas for a two year old is not going to be that rememberable. A few thing from the dollar tree would suit that child just fine.

My co-workers and I want to do an angel for Christmas and this sounds like a situation we might be able to help with. Sounds like you might be one of those cases that "slip through the cracks" of our system. Email me at tonyasub@gmail.com with a Santa list and we will do our best to help you. With all of us working together, I am sure your son will have a wonderful Christmas this year. I can't do a lot by myself, but, luckily,I have many I work with who feel as I do and want to help children @ Christmas. Merry Christmas, Mommy!! Help has arrived!:)

I have a friend that is going to have a really bad Christmas this year to. She has four kids and her husband is working now, but is still not working a full week. He was off for a couple of months with some problems he was having with a brain tumor and an anurizm. They lost there home and like I said they have four boys and are trying to make it on about two hundred dollars a week and sometimes its not even that much. So everyone is having it rough this years. When you think you are having it bad just remember that there is always someone in worse shape than you.

my friend is in the same situation as you only her husband is too sorry and lazy and cares more about his beer she too has 2 small little boys and she doesnt even have a christmas tree she cant get any help either because it appears they have too many this year to help out...i have 3 children myself and as many of you have said everyone will have a slim christmas, but its so sad to watch little kids have nothing and before anyone bashes her she is trying to get out of the bad situation and do better for her kids on her own she doesnt like having to ask for help either but i told her some times you have to have a little help..so i just pray that your child and her children can have the best christmas ever...may god bless
