I am not real sure what is going on with Glade Little League this year it seems to me that things have gotten really bad really fast. This will be my oldest child's 4th year playing and I have to say that this is the worst I have seen it. There is no organization and it seems to me that this new president of the league has no clue what he is doing. I didn't know the other president very well but I do know for a fact that over the past 2 years we have seen an increase in the number of children signing up each year and from my understanding we are not even going to have half the number of the children that we had last year. These people need to realize that Little League is for the children. We are supposed to be teaching them the fundamentals of the game and how to work as a team. Over the years I have seen that sometimes our children can't even go out and have fun and play the game they love because adults have to get involved and take all the fun out of the game.

I suggest that either the new president figure out what's going on and how to run the league and how to get more children to sign up or get us our old president back at least he seemed to know what he was doing and he was there for the good of the little league to my understanding his own children don't even play ball. Now that is total dedication to the little league some one that is willing to give their time to run the league when their children don't even play. If things don't pick up I am not sure that my children are even going to want to play next year and who can blame them.

Are you involved? Were you at the annual meeting when the elections were held? It's easy being "concerned" from the stands but until you do your part, your concern is with the wrong people! Also, if your children choose not to play, my guess is that it's your negative attitude and not the League that will be the deciding factor!
The league is only as good as it's adult VOLUNTEERS, the question is...do you want to be part of the solution or are you part of the problem?

P.S. I'm neither bashing any past or present volunteers nor am I defending any current volunteers, my only goal is to do my part to insure that our Little League is the best it can possibly be despite any challanges it may face, much like life itself!

As a matter of fact yes I was at the annual meeting I am a member as well and you are right the league is only as good as it's adult volunteers witch I am one of those as well and from being at the meeting and being a volunteer at the league for 4 years now I can see the big difference in the way it was and the way it has been so far this year. Some of us are only here for the children and some others are here just to be seen and they could care less about the children.

Mr. new president does not want any help with anything from the past volunteers. What is this with a dead line. Sometimes parents do not have the money to pay until tax time.

I'm sure that if you would respectively contact "Mr. new president" that your problem could be resolved. If you have a child or know of a child who wants to play LL, contact the new president and get them signed-up. I don't THINK that having no more set sign-up dates means no more sign-ups can happen. Again, I'm not bashing nor defending anyone but the situation is what it is and I, personally am gonna do whatever I can to make the best of it.

Let's play ball and not buddy-buddy politics!!!

We should all be more concerned with the children's well being and trying to make sure that they learn the fundamentals of the game along with good sportsman ship. As far as "Mr.New President" as he is being referred to I do think that he should be more open to ideas and help from the older volunteers and board members that's why they are here to help the league and if him and his wife think they can run the whole league by their selves they are sadly mistaken they need to let the volunteers help and they need to let the other board members do their assigned jobs that is why they are there they have been appointed to those positions and they know what they are doing especially those that have been on the board for years so let them do what they do and stop trying to take total control of everything. But the bottom line is little league is for the children and we as adults should do everything in our power to make sure they have a great experience. Adults need to be adults and put their personal feels for others aside and get along and work with the other volunteers and board members for the better of the little league cause once again IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!

It's the same thing every single year. Never gonna change....

"Mr New President" is his wife. She's the Carol Nutter of Glade. And everything THEY do will be to benefit their child. Always has been. Always will be. She will run it her way- And run it in the ground worse than it already is.

People who say little league is FOR The children- are full of crap! It's an ego trip for adults who for the most part NEVER played a sport. It's a joke.

Iím not bashing Glade LL but my son played t-ball last year for the first time and the kids didnít get trophies?? I think all the kids should! Especially the little ones!We paid a $30 sign-up fee and participated in the fundraiser. I would be willing to pay more/set up another fund raiser for trophies.

Hey you all hang in there for the kids! Believe me this is nothing compared to what's ahead in parenting & school. Wish all of you the best. Keep at it & pray about it... Then listen! But don't give up (for the kids sake)!

My child has played in both leagues so I feel like I can compare Saltville and Glade.
t-ball was played on the LL fIELD
ALL UNIFORMS were purchased the same quality
Trophies were given to each child
A pool party was provided for the entire league
I don't even know the women's name that is involved with Glade, but I can say that I was treated very well at Saltville. Can't believe that you go on here and belittle anyone who takes the time to volunteer.
just wants to play

Trophies? SMH Now I wonder which team I will be playing on the Crybabies or the Playing for Momma team.
If you parents wood only be quiet, we kids could have some fun. We don't care, we just wanna play ball.
