What a narrow minded thing to say. I'll tell you where my money goes.
and that's to pay for gas that is $3.50 and for electric and water to stay on that the price continues to go up on. I'm not on drugs and I work my ass off and still struggle to make ends meet.

Basically, if you are too lazy to work, too lazy to go to the food bank, and all you can do is lay around the house and make babies, the schools will send food home by your kids so you can feed your munchies. We need to take these kids out of the homes and put them with parents that can show them how people are supposed to live.

Yeah it's sad but true, people going to church on Sunday and spitting in the faces of people Monday thru Saturday. You do not know anyone else's situation, no matter how much you have convinced yourself that you do. You should not point fingers or make fun of other people you never know when you'll be in that person's exact position and you'll have to deal with ignorant people just like yourselves. I do not see any reason why we cannot help out the people in our area, but it's okay to help out other countries! That's just stupid! For all I care they can have every single tax dollar that I pay in as long as they are using it for the people in SwVa that need the help!! It's not for me or for YOU to judge anyone else's situation you may want to get some help to find out what is wrong with you that has ultimately made your character SUCK and your MORALS non-existant!

Parents who smoke and drink booze should be charged with child endangerment.

I don't care why the kids need food. I only care that they do. Even if the parents are throwing their money away,if they are drinking, doing drugs, or too lazy to work, the kids can't help it and they shouldn't be punished. However if thats the case they do need to put the kids somewhere that they will be loved and cared for. If you are doing such things then you can't really love you children.

I 100% agree. There is no reason for anyone in America to go hungry. There's too many assistance programs/charity around. If schools have to SEND FOOD HOME with kids, it's time to find the kids a new home.

Well Samantha, I suppose you can be counted on to take in a couple of these kids to clothe and feed since you have the answers, huh? You don't have a clue as to who or what's in some of these kids lives and if a little food sent home feeds even one, then it's money well spent.

Let me guess, you're living off your mom and dad???

How sad an individual you must be!!!

What a shitty comment for you to make. You know nothing about me or my situation. I am well educated and have a steady job. And for the your information as well as the other narrow minded A-Holes on here, I happen to be DRUG FREE. No, I am not married and it was my choice not to stay married to a man who couldn't keep his pecker in his pants. So, what about that gives you the right to judge me or anyone else on here? I'm sorry, I didn't realize that you personally bought the boxes of Mac-n-cheese and cans of fruit that are sent home. The food is meant to supplement, not replace. It's not like my children totally depend on that little bag YOU must have bought to carry them through the week. What an idiot you are! I feel sorry for you to be that stupid that it is even an issue for you. As for me, I have other things to spend my time on!

It's probably about 50-50. Some are women treated badly by men, and the other half are women no man could possibly live with!

Bottom line, if you can't financially support a child YOURSELF, you shouldn't be having them. Birth control is free and readily available. USE IT. I would be so embarrassed if my child was bringing home food from school so he wouldn't go hungry while he was in my care. Don't think your hot shit because you're "drug free". Try getting a real job and working full time hours, then you'll be entitled to something.

The food stamp program practically throws out their little EBT cards to just about anyone. This is enough to keep your family from going hungry. If a school is sending home food, it's time to look into the parent and living situation. I am so sick of this government assistance crap in our area. I worked in a small grocery store that was beside a large one. Our store sold no fresh items, mainly just junk food. EBTers would come in and buy mass amounts of candy, energy drinks, slim jims, bubble gum, chips, soda, etc. Then they would go outside and smoke, and go over to the bigger grocery store and buy beer with THEIR OWN CASH.

If you're on EBT, that's FINE, but you need to be making an effort to contribute to society. You need to NOT BUY JUNK FOOD (there should be limits to this, anyway) and you should not smoke (if you can afford cigarettes, you can afford food) and not drink or use drugs (once again, if you can buy these things, you don't need to be having help with buying food). If a parent can't follow these rules, they shouldn't be allowed to receive benefits. Children come first, ALWAYS. If parents don't put their children first, it's time to find someone that will.

This is totally 100% common sense.

SAMANTHA, I MUST AGREE WITH YOU. CHILDREN DESERVE THE BEST, AND THAT'S NOT CANNED PEACHES OR MAC-N-CHEESE OVER A WEEKEND BY THE SCHOOL. ITS NOT THE SCHOOLS JOB TO FEED THE CHILD WHEN THE CHILD IS NOT THERE, IT IS THE PARENTS JOB. IF THEY CAN'T DO THAT, WELL THEY NEED TO GET ON THE SNAP/EBT PROGRAM. AS LONG AS THEY ARE ON THAT PROGRAM, THERE WILL BE ENOUGH FOR THE KID TO EAT.
IF YOU ARE A MOTHER ON GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE, YOU NEED TO HAVE A JOB. STOP BEING LAZY.
