I, for one, am more than qualified for and capable of being an A-1 Police Chief for this town but with the lack of support shown by the citizens for the previous Chief, the Town couldn't pay me enough to even apply. With the negative mindset that plagues this little town, I doubt that a topnotch Chief will ever be hired and retained for any length of time.

I couldn't agree more! Chief Mullins came to Glade with the town being a complete mess and he had it back running in less than 2 years. He done his job very well. What they did to him was not professional whatsoever and them trying to cover it up will come out. It goes to show when they hire someone as "acting chief" who quit on them and said the town would never amount to anything. Who has hardly any experience..and bashed the previous chief so it doesn't take a rocket science to see he set out to get the chief position. I don't know exactly what it going on with the mayor but he is sneaky and not trustworthy. I'm sure all the citizens seen how he was with the chief...he acted like his best friend then threw him under the bus like it was nothing.. Almost like someone might know something bad on the mayor and that person was calling the shots because no way no how should Chief Mullins not be our chief anymore. He done this town right. I know it and deep down we all know it.

My trepidations are not with the Mayor but rather with the negitive mindset of the Town's own citizens, which may include you.

Believe what you want but I do know what happened here. The citizens sure was beyond happy with Chief Mullins when he was out for weeks after the tornado and so fourth. Don't get me wrong you can't please everybody all the time. This all comes down to the mayor, new town council, and the "acting chief" along with their new hire which is someone they town council chose to fire last month then re-hire all of a sudden after Chief Mullins....doesn't add up does it? Chief Mullins did not quit on that town...

Just go back and read some of these other threads that mention the GSPD and you will find that the negative ones outweigh the "beyond happy" ones by at least 10-1. Whether or not you like the Mayor is beside the point, the majority of people in this town have not and never will be behind any Chief the town hires or Mayor for that matter. I for one am pleased with the job that the Mayor is doing and was pleased with the Job that Chief Mullins was doing, I'm just stating that as long as negativity towards people (such as yours) abound in this town, progress will never be made!

With that said, I beleive you may think you know what happened here but in all reality you don't.

I don't dislike the mayor but I do dislike how he along with others treated the chief. I think its with any town that the citizens are never fully behind the mayor or chief and so on. Until they have something to complain about then they will talk the talk but hardly ever about the good but that is life. However, I am NOT from Glade Springs but I do know what happened and what was said on both parties. The thing about topix is no one ever knows the whole story. Like the post on the hummer people complaining about the money spent away from the town when it was giving to the police department even with several articles posting just this you still had citizens saying otherwise...people forms opinions without the facts. I would never form an entire opinion without the facts. I can't wait til the truth comes out...just takes some time.

I just wanted to say that what you have written makes more sense than anything I have ever read anywhere on TOPIX. If you live close by you should apply.

Town paid to have hummer painted. No receipts. Theyre all crooked. Compare the entire town to the area near the property the mayor owns. Try to look into finances & they'll go after you.

Paint job on hummer donated by people who actually care. No receipts for the free labor and materials. Makes sense to anyone with a brain.

Is it my imagination, or did the retired Air Force Cop just have a long conversation with the wife of the Former Police Chief?

Pretty sure I didn't imagine that.

I'm pretty sure if it was the former chiefs wife then all posts would probably be cussing and/or def not using a nice tone after what that town done to him..so obviously you don't know what your talking about.. I'm not the chiefs wife..so guess again.

So these comments overlook the fact he took bribes and tampered with evidence. He was only allowed to resign because the town didnt want to be sued.notice that few good comments actually come from those actually living in GS

Bribes? Who knows. We can not automatically say he didn't, but unless there is proff that he did, maybe we shouldn't speculate on topix. It's a pretty sticky situation.

Was there a bribe from family members for O Mullins to loose or tamper with evidence relating to the drug bust on Robert Porterfield in Aug 2012?

Same with the farmers market guy. Busted weeks before everone on the town payroll got drug tested. Found pot plants and other items there, yet he's still out and free also. What is going on?
