IT'S A LITTLE LEAGUE GAME! Cheering is one thing, but making a fool of yourself is another. SCREAMING, cursing, the comments---- and the worst, is trying to coach when you obviously do not know any of the rules! They are just little kids- when you scream and make such a scene, you're not there for the kids-you're doing that for yourself. I was there too- my child plays on that team and it was embarrassing! These people were not cheering! It makes us all look bad- this is not what I had in mind when I signed my 7 YEAR OLD up to play machine pitch baseball. I cheer, but some people....well, they just make me want to not be involved at all. So embarrassing. I hope the people over little league do keep coming to our games so that we can watch our kids without having to be embarrassed!
They will be there i am sure of it but i was there and i did not here the cussing either and if it was as bad as you let on the umpire should have warned her and then he could have banned anyone after that (it is in the rule book) I think this whole thing is being blown out of per-portion. I don,t like cussing at a ball game yet i have asked around 12 people who were there if they heard it and they said no and the woman who did admitted to it even though it seems you should have said something to her then if it really bothered you that much

it was in saltville- those umpires wouldnt have done a thing to help-unless it was to benefit their players. and as for the cursing- there was cursing, but someone else posted that it was a person from saltville saying that stuff.

for me, i don't speak like that- my children dont deal with that type of behavior at home and i hate that they have to hear it at a little league game. i don't care if the person talking that trash is from glade, saltville or ALASKA....the point is, they shouldnt have to listen to it at a kids game.

its not bad like that when we play in glade because the people over the league there do seem to try and keep control of things like that. i think they do a great job and i'm glad that my son plays ball in a program like glade's and NOT a program like in saltville. i dont know the lady over it-but she seems to care about what is best for the kids, and i like that
I do cheer for my child

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT IF ALL THE TEAMS AT THE LIITLE LEAGUE IN GLADE WERE FUSSED AT FOR THIS THEN NONE OF OUR TEAMS WOULD WIN...THE KIDS LOVE IT WHEN THEIR PARENTS ARE CHEERING THEM ON...AND YES IT MIGHT BE ONLY 7 & 8 YEAR OLDS BUT THESE ARE OUR KIDS AND ANY PARENTS OUT THERE THAT DISAGREE WITH CHEERING FOR YOUR KIDS OR NOT LETTING PEOPLE TALK TRASH ABOUT YOUR KIDS DONT NEED KIDS...I LOVE MY KIDS AND IM NOT GOING TO LET THEM BE CHEATED OR TREATED BADLY..
I don't think PARENT means that people shouldn't cheer, and I don't think that is what the little league people meant when they talked to us in the meeting. Everyone cheers- and that's what it is all about for us, as parents. But a few people, try to coach from the stands-in LOUD screams. They also try to umpire from the stands, in very loud screams. And we are parents, who are suppose to be cheering. If we want to coach or umpire, I'm sure we can do that- but not from the stands. I think too- that no matter what age group, 7 or 8 year olds, all the way through high school sports- when you're playing an away game- ESPECIALLY in Saltville or Chilhowie- you just should know the visiting team will get crapped on. It's always been that way and always will. I wish that the teams from Glade to just play in Glade and not have to go to Saltville or Marion or Chilhowie to play. Then our kids wouldn't get cheated.
I cheered for my son in that game. I cheered in tonights game and I will always cheer for him. But I dont coach and I don't umpire. THAT'S the problem I think we are having.

No, not all kids get to play every game. There are only so many postions on the field and sometimes someone has to set out. However it should not be the same kid each game. I will say that we have not had that problem on our team. The coaches have been very fair about this.

Saltville little league is the most corrupt, unorganized group- and if his money couldn't fix that mess- glade LL will be fine. glade little league is in good shape and she wont put up with cheating and acting foolish like that bunch over there does. in a few more years, there probably wont even be a saltville little league. every body will want to play in glade or chilhowie or travel- people are sick of the crap. and glade little league dont run the basketball, wrestling and football programs- we have upward and our kids LOVE it. glade gives all the groups the opportunity to help the kids- not just pad the pockets of the chosen few......the OLD people need to let some young people help out with the programs before every single program is ran right into the ground.

Saltiville changes the rules through-out the game to suit them. Not only in baseball, but in girls softball too and not only with 7-8 year olds. They do it in ALL ages. My child has been playing ball for a long time and Saltville has been the WORST group we have ever had to deal with. I am not from Glade Little league but I do have my opinons about Saltville. Just play FAIR no matter the kids ages.

The rule book states that EACH child has to play AT LEAST 2 innings on the field and every kid is supposed to bat in every game. If someones kid isn't getting to play , you should go to Missy and let her know.

Geee, the same thing is being said about Chilhowie,Damascus, and Glade. But , I've heard worse about Glade this year. The only ones not being badmouthed is Marion. Should we all take a few pointers from them?

If Saltville is so corrupt, then why have kids from over there say they liked it better in Saltville. Saltville is one of the few towns that doesn't load all the good players on one team like everyone else does. They even out the talent and EVERY kid gets to play EVERY game. Now who's corrupt and unorganized?

Just wondering how many of these people who post their opinions have ever volunteered their time to coach, umpire, work concessions or serve on their respective league's Board of Directors?

Get constructively involved or be quiet. Let the kids play!!!

You would agree with Dad. Call someone stupid when you can't even spell the word. "caring on" if you and Dad would try to get an education, you wouldn't have so much time on your hands to make fun of others.

no it's not personal property the town owns the field. To my knoledge nobody was removed only threats of it if we the parents did not keep their mouths shut. The day after the little metting I spoke to 1 of the Glade officers he asked me what that meeting was about and when I told him he said if he was playn his momma would have smacked the guy who was calling our team names<quoted text>
I have been told that Dunn field was willed to the Glade Spring Little League.
