Rob provides jobs for the Bisbee youth, and if you have not noticed, they stay for more that 2 or 3 years, so if they are being abused, they seem to like it.
The soup sells for 8 dollars and no soup is worth that much. That is highway robbery, Rob. Lower the price, because you lowered my expectations.

If the soup has been selling for 8 dollars, it is, by definition, worth at least that much.

Right, like you would pay 8 bucks for soup. You won't even donate a plugged nickel to the Verhelst, the Cake Auction, or any other charity. If you were going to donate you would do it and not need any attention or fanfare.

On the other hand, if he promises to be at the cake auction, or the Verhelst benefit etc., how many people are going to show up just to see if he comes?(Like him or not.) And those people by being there and buying tickets are supporting the event - it's a win-win.
I agree, though, that even with a chunk of bread,$8 is a bit much for soup.

I think just the opposite. He would keep people away. If I supported a charity if certainly would not be based on whether he showed up or not. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him and I think many others feel the same way.

So, you wouldn't even show up to see if he actually comes through on a donation? After all this? Looks like he's not the only one who's all talk and no action. Are you afraid he'll see you there and recognize who's been hounding him so much?

I think he IS afraid.

After all that talk about how he's been waiting for a chance to confront me, maybe he suddenly realized that I might be looking forward to a chance to confront him as well.

But, if I do it without attention or fanfare, you won't know about it, and so you'll whine and cry that I "won't even donate a plugged nickel." LOL!

And, from his twisted and sick point of view, it makes sense: by making sure he doesn't get any information verifying that I DID, he can continue to attack on grounds that, as far as he knows, I probably didn't. Why let facts get in the way of a good smear?

"Rob" treats his employees? Four managers that have been there over 5 years, 75 employees and growing. Business's that thrive in the face of a bad economy. Your facts don't add up but your ignorance is easily summarized.

To bad Rob dosn't treat his employess as well as his customers. My opinion is he burns his beans his coffie is bitter and his roaster's stack boaders on being a health hazzard, bleching it's acrid smoke. Who want's to have watery eyes and a runny nose. I think he should be made to raise his stack, so it does not pool around the Post Office and downtown. If you close your eyes you can almost immagine the smelters. I agree with you on one point a good job by the employes.
Isaiah: How long did you work for him or the company? Wait, you have not! You speak outta yo butt again old man. I like the smell of beans roasting, I think it's great, it means I still have a job! As an employee of his company I can tell you he is the best boss I've ever had, probably will ever have. He's motivated, positive, considerate, flexible, compasionate to a fault. Bitter employees are the ones that can't hack it in the work environment that he strive to maintain. He doesn't tolerate slackers, of which, I am certain you have always been.

Oh good, something new to argue about. BCC is a mixed blessing. They employ many of Bisbee's young people and bring in a lot of tax dollars. They are also very active in promoting the town. Unfortunatly, their sandwichs are expensive, lacking in meat, long on bread and the coffee isn't anywhere as good as Seth's. However, it beats warmed for days Circle K coffee, stale Safeway deli sandwichs, and it's plenty good enough for the tourists. As far as I'm concerned the Pages bring a lot of mediocracy ( I hope I spelled that right) to Bisbee but its good enough for most. The rest of know where else to go. Much like Safeway I'm glad we have them even if they are not to my taste.
Meiocracy??? Do tell, have you seen the artists in this town? How about the hippies? Cops? Public officials? Mediocracy is this towns middle name, they apparently are targeting the correct market considering the fact that no one can hold a candle to their "mediocracy". Oh, wait, Elmos' isn't mediocre and the Roka isn't right? Show me extraodinary in Bisbee and I'll show you a temporary or part time business. BCC coffee is the BEST and they have awards and a business that has lasted 15 years to prove it. The Pages other business's get noticed around the State. Face it, you can insult them all you want but they will be enjoying Bisbee long after you are gone.

I like the Pages and I am glad their businesses are a success. I think the people that put them down are jealous of their success.

There is plenty of room for Page style fare in this town. There are plenty of people esp tourists that are very tolorant of average. Average is not necessarly an insult. I also mentioned several very positive things that the Pages bring to this town in my post. I will not eat there because I'm picky and like to get the full worth for my money on those rare occations when I eat out. I suspect even the pages know that their business is geared towards tourists not repete local business.(coffee excluded) So why would I go there? I know not all tastes are the same but I know average when I experience it. Tourists, some locals and the resident troll are fine with it. It's all good.

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Taurus

Are you in listening mode today? Let's hope so because someone wants to bend your ear and they're hoping that you can spare the time and energy for them. Although your first instincts may tell you to give them plenty of advice, try to stop yourself volunteering it unless it's asked for. Even then, you may get the sense that you're really being asked to listen, not talk.
