Earlier poster #27 exposed you as being a either Luis Alejo or one of his Brown Beret troops attempting to dominate this discussion by flooding it with posts #14, 15, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, and 26 - all with different names but from the same Santa Cruz provider address. And now you're back with posts #32, 33, 34, 35, 38, 41 and 41. That's 15 phony posts so far attempting to make it appear that a large percentage of this thread supports fluoridation.
That's dishonest and contemptible, but pure Luis Alejo strategy. He regularly tries to pack council meetings with his followers to make it appear the public supports him. He couldn't do it at this meeting, with the community turning out to oppose his self-serving political move by nearly 80%.
As for earlier post wondering about Councilwoman Petersen giving her baby fluoridated water...never happen. The county government pushed this attack on Watsonville, and Petersen works for the county government in their welfare department, so she voted for her paycheck instead of her community. But that fat paycheck will enable her to buy plenty of bottled water for her baby. Sadly the same can't be said for many Watsonville mothers, and their children's health will now be threatened due to Petersen betraying her community for the sake of her county bosses.
But didn't Alejo get huge support for his recent campaign. I think he has a lot more support than the nutjobs want to accept. Crazy teabagger emilio had almost no support for his lousy supervisor race.

Alejo deserves to be prosecuted to the limit of the law for accepting a bribe, period.
It's called "graft" and "corruption", and according to Watsonville's own MOU, crimes of terpitude are grounds for dismissal.

Emilio isn't a Tea Bagger. He is clear and to the point. Alejo is no match for him. Emilio sees what all of us see and to what Alejo is doing.

You are so off. You don't know the people who live her (all nationalities). 80 percent don't like what they are seeing and the other 20 percent are struggling so hard to make a living they don't worry about everything that is going around.

For all of you IDIOTS who think fluoridation is a good idea, do some research! Areas with the highest rates of tooth decay are communities that have had fluoridated water for 20 years or more. Look it up.

Not "idiots", Moe, just "misinformed". Please keep it civil.

Luis Alejo was caught on tape at the city council fluoridation meeting responding to call from council members Caput and Martinez to recuse himself for taking large donations from the fluoride lobby by saying he hadn't received any money, saying "Not one cent. It's revisionist history. It's false." But according to the campaign contribution figures posted by the Sentinel back during the primary, Alejo received $7800 directly from the California Dental Association PAC - the CDA being the organization pushing the fluoridation contract - plus many thousands more from a PAC allied with the chemical pushers.

Alejo is a now a documented, certified liar. But perhaps that's a prerequisite for joining the rest of the gang in Sacramento.

It was also revealed at the council meeting by a Watsonville High student who had spoken out against the Plaza renaming at the earlier parks commission meeting that wannabee dictator Alejo had later emailed his teacher, criticizing her for not properly educating the student about his fellow Marxist Dolores Huerta. Alejo only believes in free speech if it agrees with his extremist and divisive political agenda.
