$190.000 distributed to county's schools

Upshur County Commissioners, at their meeting Monday, approved following the recommendation of County Treasurer Myra Harris to disperse $190,000 from the Available School Fund to school districts with students from the county.

The U.S. Attorneys Office needs to investigate the Upshur County Judge in Gilmer and find out where all of the oil royalities that belong to the Upshur County Schools has gone.

The Upshur County Commissioners Court has approved many oil and gas leases on the Upshur County School lands, but none of the money for royalties, damages or bonuses has been placed in the Upshur County School Funds.
