Viewers were asked, "What are your thoughts on the state possibly banning smoking in all public places, including bars and casinos?" Here's what some of our viewers had to say: "I think that it is a great idea to ban smoking inside the casinos.

Government Controlled Health Care:

To start taxing people earning over $240000 a year does not affected the average tax payer. But as United State citizen we must not allow areas of our society to be singled-out or where else will these actions stop. I am retired and do not come close to earning this amount. We are a capitalist country which is of the people, for the people, and by the people.

We are already required to have auto insurance which has caused many hardships for those who work peon jobs making min. wage, telling the poor they have to buy health insurance is no different than telling people to make brick without straw. Just another burden piled up on the back of the poor.

I have a son in Afghanistan at thls time. I think that they need to give the ones that are over there now some help.

I think this America is so screwed up because of the last administration's actions that it doesn't matter any more as to whose running the country, and why all of a sudden, we want our America back, whose America was it 4,5,6,7 years ago when everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I think this country was "screwed up" before the "last administration" and President Bush just got us in deeper but I don't think he is the cause for all of it..I also feel that President Obama is not going to get us out of it either.

It's just one more instance of government stepping in where it really doesn't belong. When our government can get itself out of the mess it's in, THEN and only then do I feel it has the right to tell me where and when I can smoke.

A year ago I had to have a double lung transplant which has certainly changed my life. I was so sick that I had 24 hours before I was going to be placed on a ventalator and in an induced coma. God's timing is perfect, lungs came available 12 hours later. I know how fragile life is and feel that God is definitely in control. I certainly depend on my faith more as each day for me is a gift.

I was told that I had 24 hours before they would have to induce a coma and put me on a ventalator to keep me alive. God's timing is prefect, 12 hours later lungs became available. What do think those are thinking about that are deploying some very quick and they cannot even trust being safe on their bases. I think he should not have been aloud towalk around in garb from overthere that alone was disrespectful.He showed his concern and aliance for our children who are bound to be in fear......we need them there and I pray for them daily but I am afraid they will not be horrified to deploy and those were the ones hurt most. They need physiatric treatment and alot of our prayers. I pray they have counseling and a time to recover. This group should deploy only after srick counseling and assurance.I wouldbe interested to know our President's reacion???

What do you think those troops that are scheduled to deploy are feeling? Why was he allowed on the base wearing that garb to parade around on base. Our kids need our prayersand a time of recovery before they risk their lives again. Just curious to here how are president reponds.

O a, glad I got a real job and didnt join the Military!!!! Now i'm forced to make 60 grand plus a year as an auto mechanic :)

I would like to comment on The stiumulus that the City is giving to their employees. I think they are certainly deserving, however my husband has worked for the City of Shreveport for 12 years running the Querbes Golf Pro Shop. Because he is only a 30 hour man he is not getting one penny. His performance records have been above exellent, he has received personal letters from patrons regarding his professionalism and courtesy. I think he and the others like him should get a portion, even if smaller, of this stimulus pay and not be discrimated against because they lack 10 hours of being a 40 hour employee.

Smoking is known to be a major cause of illness. Twenty five percent of all long time smokers will end up with COPD. Many more will die from Lung Cancer or other tobacco related sickness. Why be a fool and still smoke? We non-smokers sure don't wan't to share it with you. It's not that we're that cheap or stingy lol, but we really don't want anything to do with it. PS/Smokers. Please Please, Don't chuck 'ciggie' butts. It's trashy, and butt chucking shows that butt chuckers have no personal or civic pride.>:~( Thanks!! >:~)

i bet your some big fat butt female that over eats - so dont let us pay for your over eating or your food stamps - dont throw you candy wrapers or your fast food paper out your cars either no one wants to see the inmates clean up your trash off the road - and if we get free health care you get to loose weight while me and obama smokes your just as much at risk - for heart problems
