I find it hilarious that Mr. Law puts "Full Time Litchfield Resident" on his political signs. Everyone knows that this dig is at Mr. Ostendorf, but isn't it ironic that the honorable Mr. Law didn't seem to mind at all about the "Litchfield Resident" part of it when his ex-boss was never a "Full Time Resident"? Does Mr. Law REALLY believe that people are going to just forget all of his votes with the conflicts of interest and his outright lies to the people of his ward about all of these "meetings" that he was going to have with those in his ward?

So true the saying is.........."How do you know when a politician is lying to you.........when his lips are moving". Mr. Law, you are THE person that this saying was made for I believe.

I would like mr law to tell us why he was hell bent on raising are taxes and would not listen to his voters. Then when andy and jones told him how to vote he changed his mind.Just who is he listening to not the voters. He is looking out for his job.

Gary is only on the council to protect the firemen's pay and benies. Don't expect any real leadership or cooperation if he is reelected. Not really his fault, just not who he is or skills he has. The voters are to blame for putting people like him on the council in the first place.

Thanks 3rd Warder for making my case. It is very easy to see the goal of this alderman.....more residents mean more tax money, more city employees and equipment (ie shiney new fire trucks), need for supervision (promotions mean more pay). Gary will never turn down a tax or rate increase or the opportunity to spend the working man's money. You'll be disappointed if you expect a simple man to be a visionary leader.

Alderman Timmons made a motion, seconded by Alderman Dees to direct the City Administrator to execute a three phased plan to annex the City owned property at and surrounding the City's Lake Lou Yaeger, where Phase I will annex all uninhabited property, Phase II will annex the property leased by homeowners who agree to do so, and Phase III will annex all remaining property not considered in Phase I and II, and authorize the City to reduce the lake homeowners' lease fee to a flat rate of $50 per year for the homeowners who agree to annexation. City Administrator Andy Ritchie spoke regarding Lake Annexation. The Lake homeowners will be given a choice as to annexation. The City is not pursuing this to make a profit. There is not a need for extra police/fire or public safety as the current response is adequate. Sewer/sidewalks are not required to be done by the City, the City will decide what projects based on need and finances. The City needs to annex this aread to enforce building codes and safety codes. The annexation will not increase City taxes. The City pays for services now for Lake homeowners on city taxes. The deficit is $70,000 for services the City pays versus Lake fees.
The Mayor recognized Mr. Bruntrager who responded for Lake residents. He does not agree with the City Administrator's figures and was upset this information was just distributed to the lake residents in attendance at meeting. Mr. Bruntrager believes the leaseholders at the lake already support commerce of the City so why change things.
City Attorney Hantla spoke and supporting the City Administrator's fact and figures distributed prior to meeting.
The Mayor directed the City Clerk to call a roll call voted which resulted in the following:
Ayes: Alderman Cailey, Wise, Law and Dees
Nay: Alderman Sisson, Timmons, Ellinger and Ostendorf
The Mayor was asked to break the tie.
The Mayor voted Aye, motion carried.

7/5/2011
Alderman Ellinger made a motion seconded by Alderman Law to authorize the Fire Department to purchase a new or certified pre-owned emergency reponse pontoon boat not to exceed $19,900.00. Alderman Ellinger questioned the purchase since we already have a rescue boat. City Administrator Ritchie advised the boat we have is 400 pounds shy of load capacity for the dive team and equipment. Alderman Hancock asked where the boat will be kept and was advised by the Mayor the boat will be kept at the lake. Captain Mateasa addressed the Council in support of the purchase.
The Mayor directed a voice vote but results were questionable so the Mayor directed a roll call vote
Aye: Alderman Hollo, Law, Cailey and Street
Nay: Alderman Sisson, Gerl, Ellinger and Hancock
The Mayor was called upon to vote due to the tie. The Mayor voted aye, motion carried.

7/5/2011
Alderman Ellinger made a motion seconded by Alderman Law to authorize the Fire Department to purchase the Lake Department's current patrol boat engine for $4,500.
The Mayor directed a voice vote but the results were questionable so the Mayor directed a roll call vote.
Aye: Alderman Hollo, Law, Cailey, and Street
Nay: Alderman Sisson, Gerl, Ellinger, and Hancock
The Mayor was called upon to vote due to the tie. The Mayor voted aye, motion carried.
