Has anyone eaten at the new HEAT restaurant formerly located where JT's BBQ use to be? I would like to tell anyone reading this that the food was HORRIBLE, service was ok, but the place looked and felt dirty. I post this as a warning to all would be customers--- DON'T GO THERE! We ordered 3 meals and the only thing good was the buffalo chicken tenders on the appetizer menu. My son ordered 1/2 a rack of ribs ( what the menu has listed) He got 3 huge beef ribs burnt to a crisp. When I complained to the waitress, she pretty much ignored my complaint and said the ribs were equivalent to a half rack of ribs....3 burnt ribs are not equal to a half rack of ribs. The restaurant never offered to take them back to the kitchen nor refund my money $13.95 for that meal. all I have to say is....TOURISTS BEWARE and locals eat at your own risk. I place my bet that the place is closed by December. No JOke.

Tonawanda, NY, huh. That tells me that you're only used to the fine dining experiences of what Bourdain calls "TGYMcFunster's". I would suggest that you stay with what you know.

Mary,
I've been to Heat a half dozen times and each time was better than the last. Their pizza is far and away the best in the region. Chewy crust crispy on the bottom from the wood-fired oven. Big choice of toppings, sides, and beverages. Excellent chili. I'm sure they will be around a long time, judging by their growing crowd. You must have some really swanky restaurants in Tonawanda, but in these parts we go to restaurants for the food. I'm sure that they didn't "offer" to take back your ribs because you had eaten most of them and probably gave them that superior NY attitude.

I'm from belmont,nh and had pizza there on friday as we are allways looking for good pizza like we had in boston. well the pizza wasn't very good pretty much no taste and I would have been better off with a frozen pizza like mystic pizza or even a uno's pizza. the crust was good but the cheese and tom sauce were blah. so for now I will get my new york flying pizza over the internet even though it costs a lot I know its great ever time I get it

I live in Gilford NH--Not Tonawanda NY????. We complained about the charcoal burned ribs (all 3 of them) as soon as the food was brought to the table. The waitress said "3 ribs were an equivalent portion size" to babyback ribs. She suggested that my son try to eat them. He did try to eat one- when she came back to the table and I told her he couldn't eat the ribs--she shrugged her shoulders and said something like next time I SHOULD ASK if they were out of ribs ( like that makes sense). If they were out of babyback ribs, I should have been told when I placed the order... Also they had weird toppings on the pizza, that is why we didn't order pizza. Indeed, they might have the best crust in New England-but I didnt want goatcheese and tofu if you get the picture. I know I wont ever eat there again and I've warned friends not to bother--

Can anyone tell me...did JT's close or did they move? I loved that place and always ate there when I was in the area.

Thank you

Why did you list "Tonawanda NY" as your address? You sure sound like someone from NY. In NH, we like our ribs a bit charred on the edges...whitens the teeth. And we don't complain about restaurants on the internet like they do in NY. We express our displeasure by going somewhere else next time. Judging by the crowds at Heat these days, they are not missing you.

I just had one of the best pizza's I have ever had at Heat today. Their toppings are not weird and they are very tasty. I have eaten at a lot of pizza places living near the Boston North End. This place is by far better than most pizza found in Boston.
We did not have enough room for dessert so we ordered the four layer chocolate cake to go made with Guinness beer. It was very good too!

We tried this place this summer. It was aweful. The pizza was lousy, the waitress was fair and the place does look dirty. They could have had a goldmind if the new how to do it right.

A bad waitress does not equal a bad restaurant. The food at Heat is unbelievably good. Pizza is the BEST north of Boston. Homemade desserts, Guinness four layer chocolate cake, coconut cake, yumm. Give this place a chance..only opened in June and money is short. This place will be around for a long time.

I've only eaten at HEAT once, but when I did... I had the garlic and the chicken tenders. The tenders were the perfect crispiness and tasted freshly battered and the garlic was the perfect blend of salty and sweet, just as garlic should be! The server was a very charming woman. Made sure everything was to our liking. I've also been there 2 other times for a drink, and the employees treat you like family. All in all.... I think I'll be stopping by there more often!

Heat is awesome! We go there all time. The pizza is the best in the lakes region and staff has always been exceptional!! Everything tastes fresh, not just popped out of a can. Go THERE!!! Love it.

Don't waste your time or money- poor service, ok food for fairly high prices, bad atmosphere, etc...

We ate their today, and it was mediocre. Judging from the creative menu & the somewhat local following, I'm thinking this is one of those cases of "it depends when you go there."

For a place focusing on Pizza (& I thought most of the creative ones looked awesome) ours was sub-par. The place was empty @ 3pm on Bike Week yet our food took its sweet time coming (even the green salad I specifically asked for first was apparently too much for the kitchen to handle.) & 1/2 hour for some apps & an 8" pizza, all of which were undercooked.

The waitress asked how the pizza was & i told her it was undercooked.(Some of the topping were still cold & the cheese was barely melted). She took it back for 2 min & brought it back "that should be better." Better, but still not cooked. Yet the bare part of the crust was starting to char. Fries: like they didn't pre-fry them, just threw the raw ones into the hot fryer 1 time. At first I thought the calamari was great- not overcooked & rubbery like most places- but the larger pieces still had raw batter.
I suspect the cooks were too busy drinking to bother making our food till the last minute. BUT that said, the ingredients were good & I think that this place COULD be very good if they work on their consistency & get some cooks who give a poop.

We live in Meredith and went there once. The place is dirty and the food is horrible. The staff, well let's just forget about them. The waitress spent her entire time waiting on us and telling us how great the owner is and her food.
The worst pizza I ever had. The tables and chairs outside plastic) were all cracked and broken. We will never eat there again.
We love the Looney Bin, which is connected by the same parking lot. Clean and the best wings and chili around.
You belong at the Looney Bin if you think HEAT is good.
