I am quick enough to speak when I disagree--so let me be among the first to say THEY GOT THIS ONE RIGHT. Each and every council member took a sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution and Laws of the United States--Obama to the contrary, pot is unquestionably against federal law. For our council to have acted otherwise would have involved breaking their oath of office--I'm not quite sure where this leaves Obama--but it isn't the first time he has courted votes by shooting from the hip. Greeley has no shortage of problems--it is nice not to have this one--by the way, did you say the pot heads were all going to leave? Maybe move to Ft. Collins.

I dis-agree banning "marijuana Dispensaries " I speak for Denver, Greeley, and other cities in Co.
Benefits- most dispensaries pay their taxs, which brings money back into the state and counties of denver.
I livein chronicpain every day 24/7, and my Dr's have meon several medciations for my spinal cord injury, nerve damamge in my left leg, the list goes on.
No I 'am not going to denie used Marijunana for my pain flairs up and my medications do not help.
It is a win/ win money goes back into the state of Co., and helps people in chronic pain, cancer,MS,so many others in pain 24/7.

Thank you for listening to me,kelly

Funny thing is there is no ban on ILLEGAL Imigrants in greeley. Key word here is Illegal. No wonder why our citys are falling apart. You all know what i mean. It just doesnt make sense to ban a profitable business when so many are not profitable. Think about it greeley you are loosing sooooo much profit from taxes here!!!!!!!Might as well just raise some more taxes on peoples property and belongings and screw everyone over some more. why not let the people vote and speak for themselves??

There is no crime associated with medical marijuana. I have been providing medical marijuana in Colorado for almost 10 years, and have only ever seen the most compassionate appreciative patients through out the state. In 10 years there has never been the slightest inclination of bad vibes let alone crime associated with medical marijuana. Our medical marijuana business destroys organized crime by eliminating the need for supply because we can supply our own. Visit High Country Caregiver http://www.highcountrycaregiver.com for info on organic medical marijuana. We will gladly bring you your meds.

There are no statics showing that there is more crime around Medical Marijuana Dipensairies. These are just people who are trying to scare the public into believing this because they don't want them in their cities. We as citizens of every city have a right to access of these dispensaries to get the medicine that we need to help us with our illness's.
Stop wasting the tax payers money by fighting what is already legal in America.

I doubt that Greeley is losing any revenue from this decision. They were elected to represent the greater good, and I think that with the other problems they have up there this is a prudent move. This has nothing to do with my feelings about medicinal marijuana use, I actually couldn't care less what adults do, and I have a couple of clients who are dispensers, make vapor products, and are users. They aren't real together people, but that's their choice, too. Porn shops bring in lots of revenue, too, and are legal, but I guess towns have to make cost-effectiveness and law enforcement issues and desired environment a consideration when zoning, and I think that's what Greeley has done.

More prohibitionist nazis. As we can see, their days are numbered. Warmongers and drug warriors alike - people who profit from waging a civil war against their fellow citizens - need to be removed from any position of power or influence. 20,000,000+ drug war arrests and counting. People are still smoking pot and the only thing that the Drug War has accomplished is an erosion of our civil liberties at an ENORMOUS expense to taxpayers.

Legalize it, regulate it, tax it and then fire all the violent, power-hungry drug warriors.

Greely wants marijuana clinics.

Greely doesn't want illegal aliens.

You're 0 for 2, City Council. I hope your resumes are up to date.

I have an buddy that has sold weed for years. Not a violent criminal, does not sell to kids just keeps his buddies happy.

Truth is this. The legal dispesaries have HURT his dope dealing business. So here is your choice. Either the illegal guy is going to do and make big profits and pay no taxes. Or you can legalize it and collect taxes. The weed will be there either way. It's a WEED for god sakes.

So choose. Illegal drug dealers or legal dispensaries because this is REALITY. My buddy would prefer it remain illegal. He makes more money that way.

The really sad thing is these municipal bans are completely legal as city and counties always have the right to make laws stricter than state law, but the entire process is really in contravention to the spirit of the law and to the process of passing constitutional amendments. For if every municipality in the state passed similiar laws they would effectively nullify a constitutional amendment passed by the voters of this state. Does that sound like democracy to you?

One must wonder why marijuana is against federal law, before blindly accepting it as the way things should be. Do these dispensaries have anything to do with interstate commerce, do they an any way threaten the sovereignty of the U.S.A.? I can not figure out what gave the federal government the right to pass laws that are against marijuana or many of the things they have passed.

What'd be really ironic is if the voters of Colorado state-wide went and approved a measure to allow medical marijuana dispensaries, effectively overriding the municipal ban. I wonder how that would go over. Greeley challenging the state of Colorado after a voter-approved measure to allow such dispensaries?

Well maybe the citizens of Colorado should stand up and be counted again. Businesses and residents alike should form a petition and send it to their local and state officials and demand that dispensaries should be legalized. As a matter of fact, if all the supporters in the US would get togethor on this it problably would have been passed a long time ago. So lets get proactive and let our voice be heard. If anyone has information on any type of activist group that is doing a petition please post it so that the voices of the people can be heard. Start some grass roots movements and lets get this legalized.... Please post a websight or an email address here so we can get something going.

You know when learning about the history of marijauna and it's ban in the United States I got the impression that is was banned to keep African Americans under control. Whether that's true or not I don't know but I wouldn't put that past our government at the time. I'm not a smoker but I'd rather be on the road with a pothead and not someone who's had a few drinks. And frankly I'm sick of the time and money being wasted to arrest and prosecute "pot heads".

There is no mention of Cannabis in the US Constitution anywhere, dumby. States have the right to determine if a Federal Law is constitutional or not, and a ban against medicine is not constitutional. The Federal Government could not exist if it were not for the States, so it's silly to imply that Federal Laws should always be followed blindly.

Side note: Many founding fathers grew nothing but cannabis (including George Washington) on their farms, and many of them wrote about how they enjoyed smoking it (Thomas Jefferson, for example).

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Taurus

This is a day for turning your attention to your finances, especially if you're currently working on the budget for domestic improvements or changes. Talk to the other people concerned and really listen to what they're saying. They'll have some great insights. It will be far more productive to work as a harmonious team rather than as warring factions.
