Good.

Driving is a privilege -- with it comes the responsibility to be safe to others on the roadway.

"he also said the alcohol had not impaired his driving ability"

Yeah. Chugging a bottle of vodka would not impair your driving. Right, a*hole.

15 years is pretty lenient for murdering two innocent people one Sunday morning.

"But he also said the alcohol had not impaired his driving ability..."

A whole bottle of vodka would not impair the driving abilities??? Then how much more would it take?!!!

Glad to see this scumbag got the stiffer 15 year penalty for this. Any less would have been a slap in the face.

Wow. Now there is an intelligent response. Yes, motorcyclists should wear helmets and seatbelts(!) so they won't be in the way of a jerk who drinks a fifth of vodka and runs them over!

This is absolutely NOT justice. He MURDERED 2 people. Life in prison, or even the death penalty would have been more appropriate. He didn't even admit he did anything wrong. When he gets out (in 3 years probably), he'll just do it again. This is how our judicial system protects innocent people from MURDERERS.

"But he also said the alcohol had not impaired his driving ability.."
Right! And the results showed it clearly... I don't think that 15 years is enough for two people lost.

I guess THEY won't ever have a chance to be 78 years old. Or Ulmer's current 63. Or even 52.

"he swerved in and out of the left-turn lane as he approached Illinois Highway 59... Authorities said Ulmer suddenly turned left against a red light... Ulmer then was asked to take a breath test, which indicated that his blood-alcohol level—more than three hours after the crash—was 0.104. The legal limit in Illinois is 0.08 ... Defense lawyer Scott Anderson said Ulmer was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash ... "

Yeah, I guess three hours in police custody caused his blood alcohol to jump to 25% over the legal limit. I would have thought three hours in police custody would cause the blood alcohol level to DROP. H-m-m.
