The new bill bans rifles and hand guns too. It's not about citizens safety, it's about government gaining more control.

The ignorant sheep don't care about their rights, they just want the government to be their daddy and tell them what to eat, what to drink and what toys to play with.

No one suggests banning handguns. You call me ignorant then turn around and tell lies. You are incapable of thoughtful debate.

Jay is co-sponsoring the gun ban bill and has voted for the bills regulating coal production ect, so has Joe despite what he says. Anyone can buy a NRA membership, his "I'm a NRA member" is a political stunt and that's all. The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting nor is the word even mentioned in it. Look at his meeting with Keith Morgan of the WVCDL, it will tell you exactly where Manchin stands. You can look up how they voted on what bills for yourself at the congress website. I'm not just spouting empty lies here. It's all there if you take the time to look.

The new bill does, if it accepts over ten rounds it's more than likely on the list. Along with most shotguns. They went on a tizzy yesterday on CSPAN how now most semi-auto's are pretty much fully automatic weapons. The amount of lies, people not having any idea what they are even talking about, Feinstein screaming how stocks make guns more dangerous for some reason, and how the last AWB was "SUCCESS" even though we had Colombine and the North Hollywood shootout during it and crime rose until it ended. After the last one ran out crime dropped and on average long gun murder is a ghastly .44%. Point 44, not even 1 percent of all crime nationally by the FBI's own statistics. It's a complete attempt to trick the average citizen into thing any semi-auto is a "machine gun" and crime is out of control when we are at a 47 year low. In Chicago where Rahm Emannuel banned guns it rose 17% and there were 500 murders last year, a Sandy Hook number of murders by guns every month in a city that banned them. Take the time to actually read it, it's out there and co-sponsored by none other than Jay Rockefeller. It's not about safety at all. It's been proven anytime they do ban guns it only raises crime by double and leaves regular citizens defenseless.

There is no bill to ban handguns that is a lie. All of your other facts, first of all, should have sources cited. Did you know that half of all mass murders in this country have been committed after the assault weapons ban? http://www.businessinsider.com/12-deadliest-m... You also were talking about why we have a second amendment. The reason was to protect white land owners from a slave uprising. It wasn't that the founding fathers thought one day you wouldn't like the president and you should be able to shoot him. It wasn't for you crazy fools to overthrow the new democracy they had just created. You are arguing about owning assault weapons and high capacity clips. You don't need those things for self defense.

You are a disgrace to the principles of the USA.
First they came for the guns,
and I didn't speak out because I personally wasn't a gun

Then they came for the large soft drinks,

Then they came for cigarettes,

Then they came for a right/freedom I do personally want,

First they came for the socialists,

yeah, we need to stand up for ourselves before it's too late. We could be living in a tyranny soon.

If you are so concerned about your fellow citizens, why not ban 4 wheelers? Many people are killed every year on them, including many children. Where I live I know of many people killed and injured from ATV,s. I have never heard of anyone being killed by an assault rifle. By not protecting all peoples rights equally you are being very un-American. It shouldnt matter if you like guns or not, it is a Constitutional right and your duty to protect.
there are a lot of people killed with guns everyday but it's our government doing it. can we put a gun ban on them? I would feel much safer.

<quoted text>. I'm sorry do we not have regulations on ATVs? Do we not regulate cars, and prescription drugs? Why would an assault weapons ban infringe on your rights anymore than not being able to own grenade launchers or bombs? It's a very serious issue that needs addressed by those of us with an IQ over 100. You love guns more than you care about murdered children. You want to throw up your hands and do nothing. We'll see what happens. Hopefully the dens in this country grow a pair.
do you really care about murdered children? If so, why aren't you discussing the children in the Middle East that have died by the hands of our army? Or starving children in developing countries? don't try to pull the dead children card.

Having an assault won't stop the drones, but it might kill a kid. The choice is crystal clear.

You won't be able to defeat or overthrow the government. It won't matter to anyone if they can't own an assault weapon. The fear of the future can't stop progress in the present. Real children ARE dying. We AREN'T living under tyranny.

i'm not afraid of the immediate future, if we don't take action now, it's the generations after us that will suffer. it's the future we're trying to save, by acting in the present.

our government mixed with corporate power is tyranny. hello! police state much? we have been duped.

you should read my other posts, you're comment about children doesn't make sense to me. and i still don't understand what you meant by a crystal clear choice? what am i deciding between?

i believe a people's revolution can happen. i would like to discuss more in detail...but ya know. the boogie man is paying attention.

Real children are dying from ATV accidents, I think they should be banned. No one needs and ATV anymore than they do an assault rifle. And how about trampolines? How many kids are killed and injured from them? Ban em! We all know society would be safer and lives spared if we ban violent video games, movies, and books. Ban em all! How about banning fast food joints so we dont have obese children getting diabetes. Protect the children, ban McDonalds!!!

Can't stand on your own two feet in an intellectual conversation, can you? Anyway here is a chart that shows the gun violence compared in US cities to the most dangerous countries in the world. Maybe you don't realize how many people are gunned down every year, but there are people dying needlessly. We can do something about gun violence. I don't mean just gun regulations alone either. The problem is complex and we need people that aren't simple minded to figure it out. http://www.theatlanticcities.com/politics/201...

Ban McDonalds! I can get behind this idea for sure!

children are dying everywhere. Banning first world toys is not going to solve the problem of dying children, but banning capitalism is.
