iaeger was on the wrong side of the score, but i have to say this, cubs fans showed up by at least 3to4 hundred strong, the cubs played hard and most important thing i will say is this and i saw all the games, this year they played as 11 ,as a team and took their loss's as well as anyone could expect, and all year they showed class as they did last night at wirt.very proud of these young men and now it's time to remember all the cub years the teams gave us and this years team is not be excluded. love them cubs

Man I hate that they lost, but they did make it into the playoffs and extended their season. they have absolutely nothing to feel bad about looking back on this season, I think they have made alot of other local teams nervous considering they will consolidate with Big Creek and alot of other options in the playbook as well as players. proud of this team and the school and it's history. forever a cub.

A bunch of us OWLS were rooting for the Cubs to take it all the way! Congrats! We went to round one playoffs last year, you all went this year. Yeah, a lot other schools including Bluefield, will be taking River View pretty hard. It should be a great season next year. We are proud on the Cubs in War tonight.

Here's to hoping the Cubs & the Owls come together next year to make a powerhouse.

only way it will be close to being a good season is if they hire a coach that has no ties to either school this year, otherwise will be the same ole crap, a bunch of good kids with potential that get shafted by coaches that just want their name in the hat instead of actually coaching the boys and teaching them something, point to reference here, look at those johnson boys that left war to go to richlands, they are the stars up there and are very happy, not being pushed around by coaches but being coached by the coaches and taught what to do and what not to do, good for the parents, should have done it sooner, maybe they would have a chance to go somewhere then

actually the wyoming east team consolidated and won in the same year if im not mistaken, but do think that they had a coach, not the two that we have or the staffs that either have

The new scholl will do just fine. I'm sure there will be some problems at first but kids will be kids and if the parents will let the kids work things out everything will be just fine. I'm an old cub and I looked forward each year facing the owls. This is when they had a powerhouse and players like John and Robert Greasham just two names that comes to my mind. I played in the all star game with not only some of the owls but other players from the county and it was just fine. Parents seem to forget that once players are on the same team and they cross those lines to face another team all is forgotten. They are a unit and they become a team. I can remember when parent once said that the players from Iaeger and bradshaw couldn't get along. I played against those guys in junior high and when we got to high school all we had was great talks about some of those junior high games . The fun we had and here now we are playing together. So Parents leave the kids along and let them enjoy their high school years instead of remembering how it was for you. Let them have fun and enjoy just as you look back and think about your days and the fun you had.

They are all one team now as far as football is concerned. We still play each other in Basketball and baseball girls and boys. Both teams come from a fine county and will do great together. They have a long history of rivalry and that will make it even better in the years to come, being able to tell all those wild, rival stories and be able to laugh about it. I am glad we are going with BC instead of a team or school never had connection with through the years. They could and should have a great program next year from Football, girls and boys basketball, baseball, track(if they really wanted to start a team as well and tennis BC always Keen on track, tennis boys and girls, and wrestling like Iaeger did when coach Bright was the one in charge. Together, they can have it all! I never fail to mention the band they could have! Both schools were known to have excellent qualities in their bands. It is all up to you students to carry together and make us old cubs and old owls proud

Not to mention, I know as far as wrestling is concerned coach Bright from Iaeger and Coach Schrom at Big Creek are both retired. They are also active in other agendas and some sports such as golf, private wrestling lessons ect.. wouldn't it be great for them to come and and help with some coaching on their spare time for a new wrestling team at River View? Just a thought, since I know they would probably be up for the graps if offered. Both together, could pull Wrestling state championships for many years at RiverView

Great idea about the wrestling. I know both men pretty good, and they are all about their wrestling years. They should've been River View Vultures..LOL sounds better and more alarming than Raiders.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Libra

Don't try to do too much at once today or you'll disappear up you know what! You're all fingers and thumbs, accident-prone and things start breaking. It won't help if you're trying to concentrate at work and a certain chatterbox doesn't know when to shut up. Ask them to be quiet but try not to sound shrewish.
