You might be an old cub, but you are not old enough. You left out many of the real old players.

Please don't forget Darrell Muncy from 1976-1979.... He was all county, all state, and also played for a college team... In the 80's J.D. England.....Running Back.. Please check some stats, state/all-county records, etc. before posting any or having any votes... I do think this is a great idea!!!

I think this is the best ideal how about we say that they were all Great Players.Because i had a family member who played in the 60's who was, from what i was told was a very good player so we need to go way back 50's60's70's to start this just to be fair it will take alot of research if someone has the time.Thats the way we should do it because im sure that there were some good ones back in day just a thought.Need to find some alumni from back in the day and get there input.Go Cubs.

I agree with Wayne, if your going to be fair about this, you have to take all decades into consideration. I am one of the people on Mr. cub's list and was a 1st team all-stater and played in the North-South all star game in Charleston, which is a shorter list list than 1st team all-staters, but, there is no way that 11 of the 22 guys on that list were on the same 1993 team, and those are the best to ever come thru Iaeger. I think this would take alot of research and effort, It still would have flaw's. Cause even if you do a poll to come up with a list, how is someone going to vote for someone from back in the 40's if there is no one alive to vote for them.

i have to disagree that the 93 team was the best.

00 semi's
96 and 93 both very good teams that lost in the second round.

and the 99 team did not even make the playoffs but took the AA state champion to overtime.

I think, old cub you read into that wrong. I was saying that 11 of the 22 guys that is on your list, was on that 93 team. There is no way that half of the best players to come thru Ieager were on the same team together, but it is your list and your opinion. But I do not understand how 11 of your top 22 guys were on that same team, yet, you don't think its the best team to come thru. I guess if its the 96 the 99 or the 2000 teams then you might need to change some of the guys on your list to back up your best team theory. If your going to go off of how far you make it in the playoffs then you might want to put the 1995 team on your list that made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs Which also fill's out 8 spots of the 22 players on your list. Just saying. This not about the best team, its about the best players and we need not let best team influence that. The way it does the Heisman in college. Which is the best player on the best team.
