Both people acted less than appropiate. The bus driver should have enough sense to not be in a position as this one. The young lady should have more respect for her elders, period.

Agreed.
The buss driver should have made a call in on her radio to her boss, or even the police. That is just ridiculous. She islucky that more student's didn;t jump on her, if they all ganged up she could have been seriously hurt.

Did you watch the tape? The buss (I think you meant "bus") driver did call for back-up, several times. And the reason the other kids didn't jump in is clear; they used good sense. Samantha did not. She defied authority, she used threats and intimidation and she put all passengers on the bus at risk. Let's face it; if Samantha had not been on that bus, none of this would have happened.

Im not denying that fact. I did watch the tape, I couldn't see her calling anyone. That is beside's the point, I totally agree that the situation was uncalled for. Samatha should be punished.

This train wreck known as Samantha and her equally horrid mother are trying to get a payday from bad behavior by filing a suit against the school district. I can't imagine where that mother gets the nerve to do such a thing. She should be asking the community for forgiveness for raising such a complete idiot. And...where is the father in this mess? Probably headed for the hills as soon as the mother informed him of the "great" news 16 years ago.

These two should drop the suit and try to lead productive rather than destructive lives. Doubt that will happen...and I doubt this is the last we will hear about Samantha and her inability to control herself. Get ready, Shrf. Joe....

Apparently you haven't spent much time around angry, spoiled kids who have never been taught respect for anyone. What if the driver had let her off of the bus and something happened to her? There is probably a rule for that. Watching the video, it seems like all of the aggression stemmed from this brat. Watch her on tv. It's everyone else's fault--she will never apologize--why is everyone picking on me? She claims she lost friends because of this--I doubt she had very many. This kid needs to learn some manners--the kind her mother never taught her.

When Samantha fails school I can watch her on one of those "extreme fighting" events on Comcast.

2 years later I might see Samantha on "Dumbest Criminals" then switch channels to see Mom on Cops.

Is everyone watching the same damn video?!?!? Not only did the bus driver instigate it but escalated it by grabbing and throwing the phone! Watch the whole video. The bus driver is supposed to be the adult here. I don't expect much from a 15 yr old and I have 2. All parties should be charged here including and especially the daughter of the bus driver! And before you all go off flipping your lids I'm not sticking up for Samantha. She should have sat back down when she was asked!

If you don't expect much from your 15 year olds, you won't get much. It is no wonder you find the bus driver at fault.

Do you consider police attempting to stop a crime the instigators?

Matthew obviously you decided to ignore that I stated I wasn't sticking up for Samantha..she should have sat her butt right back down! As for the comment about what I expect from my 15 yr olds...I expect MORE from an adult then I do from them! As for your question about the police..please, don't ask such an asinine question!

Am watching the film,
Looks like the driver was talking to someone else and then the girl jumped the driver. Wonder if, the girl with the cell phone was calling the cops? The driver had some foul mouthing as well. The teen that was doing the hitting should have sat back down instead of interfering with the driver and the other person she was talking too. Was a good thing the driver wasn't moving, that would have been a disater.

I thought Matthew's question was absolutely dead on. You call the bus driver the instigator yet she was attempting to discipline a student who was breaking the rules. Calling the question asinine indicates you cannot respond in a manner that supports your earlier argument. Guess he got you on that one!

I don't see how since his question was referring to the POLICE and not the bus driver.

I want to know why the bus driver wouldn't let her off in the first place- which they failed to show in every video that I have seen so far. If you watch the video carefully you will discover that the student was all mouth until the bus driver got physical with her. Had the girl gotten touchy first, I would agree with most people's opinions. What I found highly disrespectful on the bus driver's side regardless of what was going on was that she was trying to take the phone away from the girl while she was speaking to her mother. It is not her property- and all bus drivers have a radio to talk to each other right? I want to see the video from the beginning and judge from there instead of the cut version the news channels have to offer.

Agree! Cut portions only showed what the news media wanted people to see. Reviewing the whole tape would be more judgemental then just a portion of it. Most bus drivers don't and won't move their bus till all have taken their seats and are in orderly fashion. The drivers also know the camera is rolling as they board, maybe they should add sound as well so parents can hear for themselves how their teen talks back at the drivers or if, the drivers are instigating them. School students knows the rules before they ride these buses from the start of the school year and as time goes on they get to know the drivers and the drivers get to know them. Even the schools should expect mistakes by their drivers. One situation at the beginning of the school year was when a driver told a preschooler to get off his bus at a unknown location while on the way back to park his bus, because, he missed her stop. Normally there would be more then one adult on the bus for these preschoolers, but, the school covered themselves up by firing the driver and not blaming the system for its own failure to this child. Much of the school routes are practiced before the school year starts anyways. Trainning new drivers and trying out new routes as well.

Until the driver got physical? I find it intresting how us adults are supposed to be respectful of loud mouth punks! Yea I said loud mouth punks! The girl broke the trules had done it before and then wants to get off the bus because she was caught. The driver inforce a school policy that once a child is on the bus they are only let off at there spot of departure in which case the driver did. The driver even called security but since the child did not want to sit in her seat as instructed by the driver became beligerant to the point of confronting the driver. Did you see the news last night where a teacher was beaten up because she ask a student to turn the radio off in her class. So I guess you want this driver to wait until the punches her and then maybe have 10 kids jump her. GIVE ME A BREAK! This is the students fault 1. She was not supposed to be on the bus without a note and 2. because she did not return to her seat and keep her big mouth shut! She is like 50% of kids todat who carry a chip on their shoulder and think they are entitled to do want they want when they want. I say let her finish her education behind bars!

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Scorpio

This is not the easiest day for concentrating on what needs to be done, whether tackling those Christmas cards and letters, writing out a list of jobs, or getting on with other urgent work. Mental activity seems to be blocked, as Mars is slowing and Mercury is under cosmic pressure. Take some time out for meditation, or reflection, and let your subconscious do the work.
