Toy Town really was an awesome toy store.

It really is very sad news that the Town can support another "craft" store, but not a unique, non-commericalized toy store, offering educational, fun, unusual toys and games, not available within 100 miles around, if that close.

My thoughts are of Janet Hammel who had the incredible vision for penny park and started this wonderful store. Rest in peace Janet.

I always loved ToyTown --- many good memories associated with that store, but it hasn't been the same since Janet passed. She was the heart of the store.

I don't know a lot of "toy-age" children, and have few in the family, but have shopped at Toy Town for birthdays and Christmas. It is sad that we're left with mostly Made in China junk from a large store which does not care about the locals, only the dollars.
Toy Town will be sorely missed.

Another one bites the dust. Ever been through Wally-World and NOT experienced some kid howling in the Toy aisles for the latest and greatest jew-jaw? Me neither.

Very sad. I enjoyed Toy Town as much as any child. They had some really cool things, but if people don't support something, this is the result.

It was a fun imaginative store to visit, especially with grandkids.

I am sorry to hear you are closing. I am the mother of 5, a daycare owner and the owner of and I know how you feel about children and what they bring to our lives. It is too bad that the recession has grabbed ahold of yet another small business trying to do the right thing. Just remember whenever one door closes another is sure to open soon. Good luck with what comes next!

Truly the end of a long and soon to be bygone era. I and my son loved ToyTown. RIP Janet...
