BREAKING: Las Cruces man arrested on 2008 Grant County murder suspicion (10:17 a.m.)

A Las Cruces man has been charged with an open count of murder for allegedly killing a Grant County woman more than two years ago, according to court documents filed at Magistrate Court in Silver City Tuesday.

In 2009 this guy was given 5 tickets, all of which were dismissed for failure to prosecute. He requested a non-jury trial on each one. So this guy is not new to the legal system. Why wasn't he held back in 2009 for the murder??????

There is no way in heck Rachel would have harmed anyone! She was the sweetest, nicest girl I knew! Finally her family has closure, i hope they prosecute him to the FULL extent!

Well all I can say is IT'S ABOUT TIME! And yes, thanks to the State Police for doing what the local yokels seem unable to do...find their butts with both hands. So we are now down to what....seven unsolved murders instead of 8?

If so, he'll probably get probation and community service for murder.

If she was attacking him, why not use the rifle as a striking instrument?

I was on a jury panel for a murder case under Judge Quintero, and that's exactly what the murder got was probation and community service. Hope this one doesn't turn out the same as they usually do in Quintero's court.

I have also thought since the beginning that both of these were somehow involved.. I was never contacted by police even though they were given my info to contact me.

I hope his trip to hell takes place real soon and as far as the wife she new and was very much involved. Thank God for the State Police.
