On Monday February 20, 2012, Llano ISD Assistant Superintendent Tim Glover submitted his resignation in order to accept another offer of employment. On Wednesday February 22, 2012, Tim Glover was named Brownfield Independent School Districtís new assistant superintendent for curriculum...I hope the Luling Supt. position isn't just a stepping stone for Mr. Glover because we've see way too much turnover in Luling admin as it is, just curious why he only spent 5 months in Brownfield???

Who is "we've" in the the see too much turnover issue? Several years ago it was stated that no one "owned" their positions with the Luling ISD. A former superintendent took that to heart and began terminating anyone he couldn't control, or held a position he wanted to use in getting his "loyal" buddies a job. Where was this comment about "too much turnover then", and why now?

As for the short tenure at Brownfield, accepting a position of 'superintendent' at LISD is a step up the ladder from "superintendent of curriculam", a move any motivated professional would consider as an opportunity.

Now if the old guard would just quit the rumors about his wife and daughter staying at Llano to complete the mother's contracted obligations,(I'm sure the family will need both paychecks, and it appears they are willing to earn the money rather than mis-appropriate it and how refreashing to know Mr. Glover is not firing someone to get his wife a position), and the daughter's wishes to complete a year as a varsity cheer leader,(which seems to me would be very important for this young lady and here is a father and mother that will sacrafice for their child's sake), while dad and son set up shop at the new job, so quit making it sound like a dysfuntional, nasty family breakup-then 'we all' can get back to the business of educating the children of Luling ISD.

Mr. Glover did a fantastic job destroying morale and academic success in Llano ISD. He bullied personnel anytime his incompetence interfered with his overblown self-image. Ask him or the citizens of the town the real reason he had to leave. Moving from an Assistant Principal position into a Assoc. Superintendent slot was not based on his aptitude, abilities, or moral compass.

The best thing the taxpayers, parents and students in Luling can wish for is that he leaves quickly before ruining the lives of good people.

If you have anything that the people of Luling need to know, don't just sit there and blow hot air. You have said nothing that would make anyone want to get on with an in depth look at Glover.

Glover bullied personnel? What the hell do you think Davis and Waldie did? Sit behind a door and pick their noses?

I will assure you of one thing. If the man is bad, he will be out of here in a flash. But you need to put it on the table for our consumption. Facts! Where are the facts?

Have you got real questions yet? Is the incompetence beginning to show? How's teacher morale? Is there a plan and vision? Did the community show positive support? IS THERE AN IMPROVEMENT PLAN ASSESSMENT? HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF THINGS ATE GETTING BETTER?

Fact-The new Athletic Director/Head Coach has the same Waldie team playoff bound and has spent a lot less money getting the team there. The kids are willing to play for him and they enjoy school. I can live with it-maybe there might be a coach/teacher that can't.

Fact-The district has a few more bucks in the bank account now-more than it has had over the past 5 years. Wonder how that could have happened?

Fact-If there is a teacher morale problem it has not shown up at the school board meetings, and neither have the people hurling around the accusations on this Topix thread. And believe me when I say this. This current board has excelled in encouraging open, unrestricted, communications from taxpayers, parents, students, and teachers. And I mean all seven members have come together on this matter of transparency.

Fact-I have heard a lot of positive responses from the locals about the direction the district has taken. Of course, there are always going to be some who just crawl out from their black hole they hide in, trash talk, then lay low for another few months. They should try asking the relevant questions at board meetings.

Fact-The proof will be in the pudding when the next series of accountability test are taken and graded. But according to the TEA monitor who have been reviewing the progress of the ISD as a result of the Stage 3 condition at the Junior High School, things are looking much brighter. So, we shall see. If things don't get brighter, the community may not like the sanctions forthcoming-one of which is loss of Federal funding, or taking local control away from the ISD, place the ISD operations under TEA managemnet, then merging the ISD with Lockhart or Seguin. Lot at stake here, huh?

Now I am always open to other factual opinions. Bring them on.

Okay, the high school is in Stage 3 according to the Feds and TEA. They were in 1 three years ago, 2 two years ago, and 3 ending the 2010-2011 school year. That would have been from test results under Davis and Puig. There is now the third principal since 2010-2011, when considering Seabolt, Lejune, and Timms. All Stage 3 Fed entitlement will do is pull Fed money. The TEA monitor has been encouraged by many of the changes according to what has been reported to the board.

All of this accountability testing TAKS and STAARS has to looked at real hard this next legislative session. There is something wrong when a child takes a test that counts for 15% of the grade for that child, and the test had nothing to do with course curriculum testing.

Simply put, what do you tell a child when they pass all the class tests, but score 69 on STARRS and are told "bad on you".

So the man's family, and specifically his children, are to be the new targets for personal attacks by you. You are a "scoop" alright-and it resembles a "scoop" of something from a pasture filled with cattle.

Glover is just another dictator. Ask any faculty member or administrator. They probably will not tell you out of fear for their jobs. Can't be a naysayer and survive.

Have you brought this to Glover's attention? I am sure he will discuss it with you. Let us know how the meeting went.

Glover's nickname in Llano was "turnover Tim". There is a reason he didn't even get a sniff of a chance at Llano Super Job. He makes powerful friends. Brings them into his "inner cycle" and then commences to destroying people by establishing an atmosphere of distrust. Hope he is not doing the same thing in Luling that he did to us. Heck, Glover left me alone and I still got the Shivers every time I was around the guy.

Wasn't Jack the former Llano ISD supt. who used district funds to wine and dine the school board, then denied access to the public records that would have proved he did wrong? Got indicted too if I remember correctly. Who was watching out for the taxpayers then?
