Recent online article blog posts on internet ecommerce sites (e.g. , Ina Steiner's blogs) indicate that a phone call to the FTC reporting the latest suppression of listing views issue is a fast, easy, painless 5-minute phone call. Many posters reported that making the phone call report was faster and easier than they expected. A number of posters are urging other ebay sellers to do the same. To learn more about ebay's TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE with sellers' listings, Google "Ebay Hiding Listings, Ina Steiner" or go to and see the recent articles regarding this.

Would recommend any seller impacted by ebay's egregious actions should call the FTC.

The amoral "law unto itself" entity that ebay has become can be traced back to John Donahoe becoming CEO around early 2008 and the introduction of the DSRs and a number of other egregious policies: PayPal holds of whatever length, seller limitations, forcing sellers to only take PayPal (or at least not allowing them to announce that they can and will accept money orders), the fee hikes of course, Guardrail or Quick Decline and trending. All of this has combined (by design) to create a hostile environment of fear and distrust for small sellers at ebay. All of it combines to drive small sellers off through restrictions and suspensions or because they wake up to what is going on and leave by choice. Because of the nature of predatory capitalism, ebay survives and thrives because there do not appear to be outside mechanisms (SEC, FTC, Attorney General's offices, Senators, Congressmen) reacting to the illegalities being perpetrated by ebay. Are they blind to it, unaware of it, or "bought off". I lean toward a combination of the three, which is why a good investigative report by some major television network may be needed to really get the ball rolling in terms of exposing ebay publically and getting a real investigation into by authorities capable of doing something about it. I personally lean toward a House/Senate Committee Investigation of ebay (televised of course) along the lines of the Watergate Hearings or the Clarence Thomas hearings. If dozens and dozens of sellers who have suffered unjustly from ebay could testify before government officials UNDER OATH factually and truthfully this would be DAMNING to ebay. The further grilling of ebay top brass as they attempt to justify their egregious actions would be the icing on the cake. I urge anyone reading this to write to your Congressman or Senator in Washington DC (you can Google contact info), state your case accurately, and request an investigation into ebay. Snail mail still works better for OFFICIAL matters, but don't hesitate to email or call their 800 numbers as well.

For those of you who have been abused by ebay through the flawed DSR system, to those of you who have either been eliminated entirely or had seller limitations imposed, for those of you who have suffered through PayPal holds, EBAY IS NOT THE ONLY GAME in town.. If you leave (whether by choice or not) do not consider it a loss or a failure. Starting in 2008, you began to be abused by bad policies put in place, policies that did not exist for thousands of successful ebay sellers from 1995-2008. Blog about your bad experiences here. Tell friends and family. And write your U.S. Congressman (House of Representatives) and your U.S. Senator and ask them to launch an investigation of the internal corporate tactics of ebay. Their email addresses, snail mail addresses and 800 numbers are a Google away. Don't roll over and play dead and continue to suffer fropm ebay's exploitation of its sellers. Pick up the phone, write a letter, do an email, post on a blog. IT'S TIME TO BRING IN THE BIG BOYS. Corporations with revenue of 14 billion a year do not care about you until you take action and draw their attention.

Ebay's tactics towards small sellers: In 2008 John Donahoe (CEO) called the mom and pops "noise" and made it clear he wanted to move away from a flea market operation to brand name big box retailers. With numerous policies that were enacted to eliminate small sellers (chief among these the flawed DSR system) he has been succeeding with a vengeance. 1) The DSR system adversely impacts small sellers more swiftly and egregiously then it does the favored big box and high volume retailers. 2) 15,000 small sellers were axed by ebay on August 6, 2013. 3) The automatic five-star DSR glitch/malfunction that ebay has admitted not fixing was responsible for at least some those purged getting purged because many were only out of compliance by one DSR star 3) The elimination of the policy compliance feature on the seller dashboard. If anybody thinks that was not purposefully done to hurt small sellers, I have some acreage on the moon I will sell you 4) ebay's latest user agreement update that goes into effect October 26 granting itself permission to hide sellers' listings. The majority of sellers on the ebay discussion boards think ebay has already been hiding sellers' listings 5) Ebay's numerous moves in past user agreement opt ins or opt outs to try to insulate or protect itself from class action lawsuits 6) this new managed returns issue (see new user agreement) 7) the fee hikes 8) the misuse/abuse of the DSR system to rob good decent sellers of TRS status and discounts they would get as well as to restrict or suspend them.

Ebay has gone over the edge, its no longer fees-able to use them to peddle stuff across America.
Its like the Google syndrome. Time to unplug and log out.

What's going to sink these people is an SEC investigation of their accounting practices. There are more bodies buried there than Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Time for a good investigative journalist like John Stossel to do a documentary expose into eBay,
