Has anyone else had problems with any of the schools in Luling? I have heard of P.E. teachers running children til theu're physically ill as well as teachers refusing children to use the restroom. There also seems to be quite a bullying problem. I am not here to point fingers, so please no lashing out. I am simply looking for information.

Good schools with good caring people. If you have concerns take them to the people involved and I'm sure they will work to correct them. This has been my experience and my kids love going to Luling schools. We are happy we moved here.

Me Mommy I've stayed quiet long enough. The truth is that you won't get a strait answer on this forum. Luling Admin has it's legions scouring all social media trying to control the information that is available and give the citizens of Luling a false picture of reality.

I don't know about bullying, Didn't see anything out of ordinary. What I can say this is the worst district to work for. Admin is not supportive. Tries to scare everyone. School Board doesn't seem to care about staff. If your a teacher looking for a job, don't come here.

I agree tired. If I sit through another faculty meeting being told I can't express my first amendment right of freedom of speech or told that we are going to get fired unless we do more (after doing everything they've told us to do at the meeting the week before) I think I will explode. Put me on the list of lookers.

Same old ...... I understand the blaming has begun again. Even tho the teachers have done what they were told to do admin is blaming them for the students not being where they need to be as far as testing goes. Maybe they should try a different approach. How long has the lady from TEA been coaching our admin and teachers. Too damn long. Give some respect to the teachers they deserve it.

We need support for our board, admin, and teaching staff. We need time from TEA. We didn't get here overnight and will get out of it overnight---but we are asked to try. And we are. The problems we are experiencing did not come from current admin--they are all brand new. I think we all need to work together to solve this problem. Pointing fingers are never found on working hands!

Grace and Peace to all of you!

I have had children in elementary school for several years. Unfortunately they are not perfect. However we moved last school year and it was a nightmare... So grateful to be back. Coaches and bullies are things your child will be dealing with for the next several years. Children have to learn how to be strong, assertive, outspoken, and stand up for themselves - in school and in life. My children have had problems, but nothing they haven't been able to deal with. Its your job as a parent to in steal a back bone in your child... Believe me- if your child can't make it in luling,Tx- they will defiantly won't make it in the real world. Mommy up- quit blaming the school and stop coddling your child and spend more time building their character. Children who are confident and assertive don't get bullied as much.

Thank you for your comment. Please note, that bullying is one thing, assault is another.

And please also note that I have a degree in Behavioral Science, and understand full well the importance of confidence and character.

Something else you may take note of, is the fact that there was no intent of blaming anyone...rather, I was trying to gain an insight as to the norms and culture of the schools. Again, thank you for your comment. It definitely provides SOME insight. I appreciate your willingness to tell me how I lack in the mommy department as well.

If u have a degree in behavioral science, what r u doing seeking advice from us. Try putting ur child in a larger school in a bigger city. Luling is nothing! Ur child must learn to stand up for themselves, in school and in life! I must have poked a sore spot, or u wouldn't have replied 3 times! I'm right and u know it!

This post concerns me. Why? It should be really obvious.

First I noted that the post made reference to "bullying". Then it implies that an "assault" has taken place.

If you are the poster with the "degree" in "behavioral science", then you must know that the Texas Penal Code and the Texas Family Code required you to report the "assault", if an assault actually took place. Especially if a child was involved.

So, I question your professional ethics in posting the "assault" matter, but not reporting it as a matter of law. If you are certified in any type of counseling, teaching, or medical practicing within an educational environment, you know what your obligation and responsibilities are.

If you are not involved in education, then I suggest you go see Chief Bill Sala rather than throw the innuendo of an "alleged assault" up on Topix for whatever you personal agenda might be.

Your unsubstantiated post as an ANON is real convenient when the question of truth, fact, and reality is going to be tested at the ISD board meeting tomorrow night. I intend to bring these posts up in Public Comments.

Now you're bringing up penal codes, seriously...??? Your kid is going to be bullied for the rest of his life. Texas penal code, no, kids will be kids. Fights happen, you win some you loose some, but you hold your head up with some dignity. Mommy can't fight all their battles.matter of facr, my son came home with a black eye right after I posted my last response. But, guess what? He instigated the "assault"... Guess what, he learned not to pop off to the wrong kids... He hit the kid back, principals were involved, the children were written up... But also, he and that child haven't had problems since, know why? He stood up for himself!!! What is it that you propose, we file charges for ever little mouthy kid that gets checked. You win some you loose some, but you grow a backbone, life lessons are learned. Guarantee, if your kid knock that bully in the mouth, he will get some respect! Have a little more confidence in himself. But mommy running to the school, talking chiefs and penal codes... Its quite obvious, if the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I can definitely see why he's "bullied".

Sounds like there are a lot of assumptions being made based on posts...not sure anyone ever SAID someone was assaulted, or that they didn't teach their child to stand up for themselves. You know what they say about assuming...

How did your lies, post #10, work in yesterdays school board election? Didn't "take another one out" campaign messed you and your 'master plan' up for another THREE years.

Now we can get to work on 'other' area ELECTIONS of interest.

I don't even know what I'm trying to figure out. Why am I so disappointed and sad? Actually, I don't have anything better to do, but to try and get a life.

your lonestar card and wik card ;somebody with backbone doesn't have to prove he has a backbone .
