Further evidence that both TEC and UMC are losing their scriptural sanity as fast as they are losing members.

Could it be the two go together?

You really don't get it. If you're speaking of the Christian God, He repeatedly condemns all homosexual behavior in the plainest of terms and in both Testaments. Denying this means a church ceases to be Christian.

All churches are not christian; sugar
.
Fundamentalist churches just hijack the 'christian' label to try to legitimize their dogma for dollars; and 'christian' looks cool flashing in neon on their 'church' signs
.
This is especially prevalent in the Utah territories and God-forsaken places like Oklahoma and Tennessee where cave-men drag women around by the hair and make grunting noises

Dear Manito Manurehead Caleb David Morley,

Your peculiar interpretations of the Bible have caused you to ignore much of the Teachings of Christ Jesus.

Must be really hard up for money to go against their own worshipped written words. Guess if there is a God of theirs they will be judged accordingly.

The Episcopalians don't worship written words, Mr. Austinite.

They worship the Lord God through discipleship in Christ Jesus.

The written words are an excellent guide, always to be seriously considered. But, never to be worshipped.

Truth is our guide and we seek to gain a better understanding of it.

Nor do Catholics. The Commandments and Bible are guidelines for life, not worshiped.
As a Catholic I believe in the word of God as written by man and have solice that sins are punished and good is rewarded.
The beauty of America is that we are free to believe however we so choose.
My youngest brother is a Jesuit as is a great uncle. A male from every generation in my family is chosen by lot to serve, has been this way since 1702. Almost as long as there has been Episcopalians. I myself am a Psychiatrist and also a retired military officer.
I do not care if someone wants to be a homosexual, an acountant, murderer, artist of any type, hermit in a cave, or if they color their hair pink with white dots.
People are free and should be free to make such choices in life and accept the consequences of their choices, now and later.
In the end though no church/religion would give two cents if they did not get monies and that is the endgame for all churches.

Col. Matthew,

It is not necessary for you to present any credentials here. In fact, it is not advisable. Leave that to private conversation. Just the same, your service and your views are much appreciated.

There are many on these threads who cannot see the difference between Holy Scripture as guidance and Holy Scripture as literal incontrovertible Truth that cannot, under any circumstances, be understood to contain any internal disagreement in principle or edict.

I agree that there is a beauty of America that is very much unique. In my opinion, the Founders fought and wrestled with each other and within themselves to forge a document that reflects the very nature of the individual in his or her relationship with God. That document being the Constitution.
