Maybe if someone taught this little girl how to shoot that shotgun she might have turned things around

Why is a 13 year old at home alone at 11pm?

Why does this media and others use the TRENDY term "home invasion". Why not title with the professional terms that the thugs would actually be charged with? "Armed Robbery", "Break in", for breaking and entering, or,"a felony larceny occured with property damage and a physical assault" at this address. "Home invasion" is too light a phrase. Might as well say a "tupperware party" occured here. Just sayin', I don't see these felonious criminals on court calendars being charged with "home invasion".

Why was this 13 year old teenager doing at home alone at 1100 PM? Yes if she knew how to shoot she could have shot but she in all probability would have been killed by one of the scum bags.

Cowards....why hit a 13-year-old girl with a bat? Isn't there no decency in people, even if they are criminals?

Gun Toter, your D-MN RIGHT!!!! I am a 30 something mother of 2. I was taught (very educated & skilled -not fearful nor afraid, as it should be) earlier than I could ride a tricycle, how to shoot, aim, hold and where to put your weight into. THIS IS A SHAME. THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE IS EXACATALLY WHY WE ARE PROTECTED IN OUR CONSTITUTION. That is, until that is gone as well!! My daughter is a young teen, and certainly of age to be at home alone, esp....just to run errands on a summer night. Before the gentleman below judges, maybe he should know the child's maturity level (which she has proven, wonderful!) & realize that even a parent in the home can NOT stop an ARMED ROBBERY OR DOOR BEING KICKED DOWN! Please ppl, stop judging & realize this was another reason for me to AIM & SHOOT!!! Thank you..a loving, educated mother of 2!

it's just a shame that criminals have more rights than you do......especially if they are another race

our great town of gibsonville police should be more concerned on staying in the town limits patrolling than out in the whitsett area directing traffic on cars stuck in a ditch, if they were patrolling then this may never have happen.

These men were watching this house, waiting for the adult to leave. Parents, NEVER, NEVER leave your children alone like this at night. Even if she knew how to use a shotgun, she would have been overpowered by these thugs and hurt even worse. A 13-year old is STILL a child and easily frightened. I remember what my kids were like at that age, and you cannot convince me they are mature enough to be alone at night.

Dirty South.

This is a job to these people.

While you and I get up and go to work everyday, these freaks work harder at not working than if they actually went out and got a job.

These three cowards need a good old fashioned beating. Please come break in my house and try to steal my belongings. I will be waiting with my .45 Taurus.

According to the map, this happened closer to Greensboro. It would be GCSO jurisdiction. Gib PD has no jurisdiction where the crime took place.

At 13yrs I was very capable with both a shotgun and rifle and handgun not long after. Know your gun and the law so when the time comes that you are forced to use it to eliminate trash like this you take out all three before they do you and you can legally justify doing so.

Teach your kids proper shooting skills and the law. Never know when they will need it. Don't wait until its too late and 13 is so not too soon.

Shotgun getting replaced with a pistol, going to gun safety classes, won't happen again!!!! Not with the same outcome anyway...
