Wait so let me get this right. If you throw a sandwich wrapper, your aloud to break someone's jaw or arms or legs etc.
That bull. Even if the cop provoked it by throwing something then call the police. If I am aloud to hit everyone who has proveked me at work or out in public I be Chuck Norris.

Throwing a wrapper no!! But if you go up to the guy and ask what the problem is and he spits in your face, that can be considered an assault.
Especialy later when the off duty officer states that he was extremely intoxicated at the time and remembered little of what happened.

There is a little NPPD SOP (Standard operating procedure) that states that an officer must be able to respond to being called in for duty 24/7.
Excluding illness and other valued reasons.
Being intoxicated is not a valid reason.

I believe that an NPPD officer has a one full year probation period that an must completed before he/she falls under the union rules concerning department discipline. During that time of probation an officer can be terminated without cause.

Well it has been two weeks since the chief promised a responce-to the incident and there still has been no word.
He promised an answer over a week ago.

One would also think that there would be an investigation into the Capt. who said he found no wrong doing on the officer''s part.
Even after the HCSO stated that the off duty NPPD officer was responcible for starting the altercation in the first palce.

Well after being two weeks late with an answer to the bar fight, he has finally done so.

Boy what a slap down!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!

The oficer intialy lied and stated that he was attacked for no reason, then stated that he had top much to drink and could not remember anything.
He has now admitting to being the one who intiated the fight.

After lying twice and one of the Capt.'s first stated that he could find no wrong doing on the officer's part, one would think that someone would be terminated when all was said and done.
Especially when the officer was still on probation doing his first year.

A normal person would believe that such a strong measure would have been an absolute must.

However one must remember that we are speaking of the NPPD and normal is something that is of an oddity in that department.

The Chief suspended the probationary police officer for one day over the incident.
If that was not enough of a slap in the face to the citizens of the city, the chief went one step further in his action.
That being the chief is allowing the officer to use vaction time to cover the suspension.

The chief was not done spitting in the eye of the city. He finished the statement by stating that the officer admitted his mistake, we are putting the whole thing behind us and moving on.

Is it any wonder that many in the city hold the department in contempt.

Well the NPPD is now taking up arresting senior citizens for try to protect their homes from officers try to make unlawful search and seizer of their homes.
In other words, a warrantless search of the elderly couples home.
Made state news for screwing up again NPPD.
