This is just a few days, and there are many more serious and violent crimes that made the paper, I just took the first ones from the article.

Gettysburg has a major crime problem.

3 misdemeanors, a warrant out of York and a burglary? 3 whole citations issued? Ouch. Tough area. Sorry I missed the cat fight. We're they gang affiliated?

Four people were charged in connection with two different theft reports Friday at Dollar General, 2 Springs Ave., Gettysburg police report.

Sickening the amount of serious crime in Gettysburg.

Typical Gettysburg Man:

York City Police arrested a Gettysburg man Saturday after he led them on a chase, first by vehicle and then by foot in the city, according to charging documents.

Frankie Tyrell Johnson, 20, of the 100 block of Hanover Street, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver drugs, trespass by motor vehicle causing damage, accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property, drug possession and several vehicle violations.

Johnson was arraigned and then released after he posted $25,000 bail.

Police said that at 2:19 a.m., an officer was in his patrol cruiser when he spotted Johnson, who was driving a blue Ford Escape, drive through a stop sign near Ridge Avenue without stopping, documents state.

The officer followed the Escape, which was speeding, and then found that it had crashed into a fence on Wallace Street, documents state. The officer saw Johnson get out of the Escape and run south, then turn east on Gas Avenue. The officer continued following Johnson until he was arrested by another officer, documents state.

Police then searched Johnson, and found $1,617 in cash on him, along with marijuana in his underwear, documents state. Searching the Escape, police found two plastic bags of crack cocaine.

Shoplifting at the dollar store???!!! Did they have to call in the national guard to restore order? I see you finally found a felon. Too bad the crime happened in York. I guess if you live in Gettysburg there's not much of a market for drugs so you go sell in York. Now, if we could just find a recent felony that actually happened in Gettysburg we'd be getting somewhere

How are you going to explain away the burglary earlier this week in Gettysburg? I believe the legislature graded that as a felony of the first degree, and your high school teachers graded you a first-class moron.

You're such a worthless, pathetic Gettysburg hick.

You and I have more work to do than I thought. There's a difference between a police report being filed for an alleged crime and someone committing a crime and being convicted. I won't bore you with all the details of this b and e that remain unknown but let's start with the possibility it's fraud and work our way all the way through to the perp is some drunken Eskimo from Alaska. All that considered still doesn't change the fact that we can't prove a violent crime epidemic with cat fights and burglaries. More, we need more

How can this doozy of a serious violent crime be forgotten... Sickening Gettysburg.

The Gettysburg Police Department, along with the US Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the Chapel fire which occurred on 3 December, 2010, on Chambersburg Street. The ATF has approved a $5000 reward and the Adams County Crime Stoppers has approved a $2000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the fire.

Hey idiot, making a false report to a law enforcement agency is a crime in and of itself. So either way, there is a crime here to be charged.

Again, you lose. But that makes sense because you're a Gettysburg loser.

So you've proven that there may, or may not be, a false police report filing epidemic is Gettysburg AND blew the lid off that and the arson from 38 months ago? Are you Batman? What happened to all the stabbings, shootings, armed robberies and armed home invasions that are occurring all the time? Trying to say Gettysburg has a serious violent crime problem based on what you've presented here is like trying to say Gettysburg is a tropical rain forest because it gets more than 4 inches of rain a year. If you want to tap into the real epidemic in the area, the issue where the numbers of incidents are really out of proportion to the total population, talk about drunk driving. There were 239 DUI's issued by the State Police Gettysburg barracks. That's a TON

Anyone who says there are no gangs or large-scale drug dealing in Gettysburg is a deluded fool.

GETTYSBURG -- Pennsylvania State Police in Gettysburg have concluded the investigation into a shooting in which an undercover Adams County Drug Task Force detective wounded a suspected drug dealer last week.
Adams County District Attorney Shawn Wagner said no more information will be released in the shooting of Rodney T. Williams, 22, of Philadelphia, until the District Attorney has time to review the investigation.

Williams was shot during a "buy-bust" operation on Thursday afternoon at Water and Stratton Streets in Gettysburg.

According to reports, a confidential informant bought crack cocaine from Williams at 1:30 p.m. After the informant left the buy scene police moved in to arrest Williams, but he got into a van and tried to leave the scene.

The police officer reached into the van in an attempt to put the van into park, but Williams allegedly already had it in reverse and the van began to move backward, dragging the officer with it.

The officer drew his service revolver and fired at Williams.

According to charging documents, Williams was transported to York Hospital "with gunshot wounds." York Hospital had no information about Williams, but patients can ask the hospital to withhold such information.

It was unknown Monday night whether Williams was in the hospital or prison

Williams has been charged with one count of knowingly delivering crack cocaine and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, after allegedly using his cell phone to facilitate the delivery, according to court documents filed with Magisterial District Judge Thomas R. Carr.

Williams' bail is set at $500,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8 before Carr.

The Drug Task Force officer who shot Williams has been put on administrative leave until Wagner reviews the result of the state police investigation, which Wagner on Monday said has been completed.

Wagner did not say when his review will be finished.

The police seem to think otherwise. Eat crow, you worthless hick.

Drugs and gang violence have taken root in Gettysburg. It's all around, all you would have to do is pull your head out of your culo to see it.

There is a reason that the State Police and Adams County Drug Task Force focus on Gettysburg. They aren't too keen on wasting precious resources where they aren't needed. Gettysburg has a ton of crime, gangs, violence and drugs. It's disgusting what has happened to this once-proud town. It's a cesspool now.

I for one, am very concerned for my personal safety.

Being a high profile member of the community I could have a target on my head when strolling the battlefields.

At least this time you didn't deny that it happened.

But I enjoyed making you look stupid re: no drug issues in Gettysburg. Do us all a favor and go kill yourself.

The Adams County Drug Task Force would not spend so much time concentrating on Gettysburg if there wasn't a gang drug problem.

Why pick such and old incident if they're concentrating so hard? Shouldn't there be something more recent we can point to? All you've put up so far is a 3 year old task force arrest, a 3 year old arson, a cat fight, 2 other misdemeanors, and a reported burglary. If you mention armed home invasions, armed robberies, shootings, stabbings etc shouldn't you be able to name one? I'm telling you. Go with cover up. It's way better than what you're currently using
