Of course the locals have a stake in trying to minimize the impact of these crimes. Their jobs, lives, and pride all hinge upon the reputation of their hometown. Nothing new there, happens everywhere.
But I have never seen so much child sex abuse in a town the size of Gettysburg. Research all over the internet, you won't find a town with more problems than Gettysburg.
