I see nothing wrong with a Casino going up near the Battlefield . What about all the eating places, motels and the Harley sales . My wife and I go to other States and give them my money . It has been the same thing in Pa. the do good people think there way is the only way . Lets do it this way,run all the eating places, motels and everything that is not part of the Battlefield out . Why don't you do good people get a life .

What about those of us who reside in Devonshire Village, directly behind the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center where the Mason Dixon Resort is to be built? Will we lose our homes if in fact the whole complex becomes a reality? I love the peace and tranquility and that is one of the biggest reasons I moved there. Who will be paying me to move??? I don't want the hustle and bustle of this proposed resort/casino in my backyard!

So, using your logic, the Susquehanna is already polluted, why bother to clean it?

Yes, the situation in Gettysburg is bad but don't make it worse. And actually, why isn't it feasible to move the casino say 15 miles north up Rt. 15?

I don't see how its Levans fault that someone said something like this any more than its paddocks fault when one of her supporters say something stupid which is just about every day!

I believe the comment "prostitute" was from the head of pro-casino adams county, Jeff Klein. Klein is likely coached by LeVan's PR guy, Dave LaTorre. http://www.eveningsun.com/localnews/ci_142961...

The use of the word "prostitute" was unfortunate and should not have been used. Additionally, I don't know David La Torre personally, but have communicated with him on several occasions and can say, without doubt, that he has not, would not and will not coach anyone on what to say, let alone request that they write a letter, or make a statement. He has maintained a very correct, professional approach in everything he has done, as has David Levan. If you want to denigrate anyone, address your comments to the correct person and don't throw accusations around that you can't back up.

OK i heard about the displacement of people who live very close to the proposed site my question is where was all the concern when all the people got evicted when they built Giant on HALLOWED GROUND the exact spot of the barn that was used as a hospital during the war was never found so why is one place OK but the other is not . It is called hypocrisy and the person running NCG is the Queen and who is financially backing NCG she wont even say makes you wonder .

How does Dan Siderio keep getting LTE's printed? There's been like 10 LTEs recently in various papers and they're always written by the same 3-4 people. I guess when you run a paper and have such a small pool to choose from but want to appear as though you aren't publishing one side more than the other that's what happens. Nice local support NCG. From what I can tell there's only about 10 of you who actually live here. Heck, you had to go to Tennessee to find a heritage tourism expert to present to your group. You mean to tell me you guys couldn't find someone more qualified out of all your supposed supporters here in Gettysburg of all places. Give me a break. And that guy you had to bring down from Connecticut to be your keynote speaker? Yikes. With all your support you couldn't find someone from the area to present? Yeah. It's the same old same old. Give the people here what they want and please stop printing letters from Dan Siderio before he becomes more published than Hemingway.

If you had come to the meeting or read about it you would know 7 locals presented and 2 people from out of town with a ton of stats and data. Hey, it's democracy in action at its best.

This is a republic, not a democracy.

Gettysburg has been famous since 1863 for what reason? Will the casino last one and a half centuries? Dollars might be lost there but I doubt much blood, as in the case of the battlefield. Too much is being made over these casinos as an economic panacea. If you want a strong economy, bring back the jobs and industry that were shipped overseas by greedy hog businessmen and their political whores. Give Americans real jobs, preserve her history and the sites where her sons shed their blood, and quit putting so damned much emphasis on white elephants that detract from the true greatness of America.
And get rid of property tax, they are evil and unfair.

And the people that live here know that I am not a lobbyist. Just a local here trying to get ahead and secure a future for this town. THANKS DAVE!
