It's time for the pros and nos to shake hands and walk away. The nastiness that this brought out in our community has been sickening. What's done is done!

What a shame. Gettysburg will be dead after the 2013 anniversary.

Yes, there are plenty of casino's within driving distance... No need to muck up the historic area w/casino's and what come with them. Aside from some of the nasty things that comes w/casino's there is the traffic... I'm far from a prude, but I, for one, is happy it went somewhere else...

FYI Bill....a casino was still awarded to PA, so who is the dope exactly? Aren't you completely against casnios in general? You're so quick to make a rude comment when ANY casino being awarded defeats your "cause"

Yo! I Believe Mom will have some kind of Logic on the reason why no casino will be built...whoops, renovated. There is already a building there.

It was David Levan that brought this divisiveness to Adams County - now, please, Mr. Levan, don't do it again.

No surprise with the decision or the fact that the No Casino people are already starting. Notice who the first posts were from. It would have been nice to have it, but Hollywood Casinos isn't too far to drive. I will just go there and provide that area with tax relief. I could have cared less one way or the other as I don't frequent Gettysburg anyway because I can't stand all the battlefield stuff and the congestion it brings. It is time for everyone to move on until the next time somebody wants to help Gettysburg grow and the people who oppose everything come out of the woodwork again.

I trust Mr. LeVan, having gathered not a single vote from the board, will understand that any future attempts to win the required statutory super majority is doomed.

Now my fellow Adams Countians can get back to doing what they do best: fighting at the top of their lungs over every other issue from road repair to garbage hauling.

I have lived many places in my lifetime, but never one where there is such intense opinion about everything, name calling, and rude and loud axe grinding applied.

I'd say "let the healing begin," but I know this place will enough to know that raging arguments are much more the norm than healing.

Well I guess I will continue to go to Grantville for a great nite of entertainment and family fun. We truly enjoy a nite at the casino and I have never ran into any thugs, prostitutes, shady drug dealers hanging out side. It is a very fun and exciting thing to do, once in awhile. What a shame for Gettysburg.

Look at the bright side...the Chief Assessor can raise the proposed casino site up in the air and grant agricultural use discounts to the entire parcel, thereby creating a new farm and preserve more asphalt open space.
