Wish I would have been the 71 yr old lady that particular day. Just cleaned both my rifle and pistol..........they sit just waiting for an excuse to use them. With the number of people who own guns for self defense....the stupidity of people like this never ceases to amaze me. Do they just not care about their life enough that they are willing to put so little value to it?? Lets see.........my life.....vs.......money or material things I can sell. Hmmmmm, it appears to be a nobrainer to me. But then again.....it takes a nobrainer to do something like this....so it makes sense. I hope as he sits in jail.........he sees how little it was worth to not use his "little brain" that day. Often wonder what would happen if a homeowner suffered a heart attack and died as a result of getting all worked up over running into a burglar. Would they be charged with burglary AND involuntary manslaughter? Probably not with the way the system works..........but it is a legitimate question.

I agree with you "darn" - but in this bleeding heart liberal state of PA, I cannot help but think if the 71 yr old lady did shoot the burglar, she would have been prosecuted for violating his civil rights.(I know, I know, how can people come up with such "logic"?) The ACLU would have been right on it protecting the scumbag stealing from this law abiding citizen.
However, if enough law abiding citizens arm themselves and enough scumbags get blown away, maybe they will engage their little brains and think twice before victimizing innocent people.
And two good things would come from it. Another criminal off the streets, and it takes a lot less taxpayer money to bury someone than to put them in prison.
We can only hope.

Gettysburg sickens me. It's a cesspool of violent crime.

2 out of every 3 days a serious violent crime occurs in Gettysburg. It's very dangerous in Gettysburg, tourists are being robbed by Gang Members.

This happens all the time in Gettysburg. Armed home invasions, robberies, shootings, stabbings, child rapes, you name it. Gettysburg is a toilet of street gangs and crime.
