This little boy needs to have charges filed against him & so should his parents. This little boy interferred with so many lives. With all the help from the police department all the media coverage. This is insane and to think of something real were happening at the same time and this little boy is sitting here playing a joke. Mom & Dad should be proud of their son (NOT). Stories like this that make people so angry. I would fully support so many charges against this kids & family. Sick boy is what he is. To think this is all a joke get real kid. COPS dont play jokes. I hope he regret this for the rest of his life.

Well well, what a surprise he lied to the Police and made it all up. So that means he isnít a victim and might be arrested if police pursue charges on him. Well NBC4 do you really think you should be or need to be putting his photo back up for everyone to see. He is a Juvenile only 14. What he did was wrong but I donít think his photo should be back upÖÖ.

Wow! Well, this isn't the first time some kid has lied to the police. His mother must be "NO JOKE" or he wouldn't have lied to save his butt!

I don't think his photo should be shown anymore... now that he's no longer missing. Isn't that against some law or something?

I'm pretty sure that his mother is going to "CORRECT" the situaiton... I wonder what the police will do. I don't think the parent should be punished, it's not her falt...I can't wait to see how this plays out

The 14yr. old boy who gave his mother a terrible scare and the police of Germantown, MD trouble with his lies and games should be made to do community service for the next 2 months. If he gets away with what he did it is only going to get worse.

He needs to be punished. What about having him perform so many hours of community service? To think of all the time and energy that went into investigating this case. He needs to be told about crying "wolf" and all the trouble he caused. And a good old-fashioned spanking wouldnt be bad either!!!!

Whatever possessed this young boy to stage a dramatic stunt like this?! This is a crime and he should be dealt with accordingly.....like a BEATING from his Mammy! The other alternative would suggest that he be counseled by a Doctor because he could pose a threat to himself and/or his family!

I agree with the community service. Anyone wonder where he purchased liquor from? The picture that they are posting of this "14" year old boy looks very dated.

This young man and the others who were allegedly involved in this incident should be required to perform community service as a means to compensate for the resources expended while investigating this outrageous lie. They should also be required to write formal letters of apology to the county. In addition, the parents should use this as a wake up call, especially if the information about underage drinking is correct. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

Like I posted before, I knew it was a hoax. I was just waiting for NBC4 to post the story out. How could it possibly be a surprise to anyone???? It was SOOO obvious. Don't let it surprise you what they're into. Plus most of them have the potential to go nuts...it's in their little adolescent physiology. I agree I'd tear his little hindparts UP, 14 or no 14. Then he deserves to make some kind of restitution to the state and possibly be put in community service, AND be put into psych care AND be put on probation...

And oh yeah, isn't falsifying a police report and staging a kidnapping a FELONY? Don't know for sure. But if it is, he deserves to go to juvy until he's 18.

From BZ: you have certainly hit the nail on the head with this story. I am appalled that all the time and money was wasted on a kid who wanted attention and to hide his ways from his parents. What a shame!
