Right on Juanita!!

Great letter, great points!!

You need to keep shining that big flashlight of yours and these ugly truths will come out.

We should all be ashamed of being asleep while the public employee unions raided the coffers with help from gandolf, grunter and swabbie.

The momentum has shifted and now is the time to get public employee wages/pensions back in line.

The silence from the left/unions/public employees is deafening and telling.

Oh, quit trying to BS someone...

You all weren't asleep....

You all was too busy trying to feather your own nests the easy way, and when the economic windstorm blew your nests to hell, like starlings, you all going out to raid someone else's nest...

You cannot stem the tide of pension reform with your petulant, off topic posts.

The reform is rolling locally and will soon spread statewide.

We were sleeping by working 40+ hours a week funding our own retirement accounts while the public employee unions were putting the screws to the three stooges.

The three stooges were unable to say no b/c they have no concept of fiscal responsibility. Coincidentally they all suck out of the public through as a means of support. I think I see a pattern here.

Good job gandolf grunter and swab!!!

I see your time in politics has jaded you, now is the time to step aside and let those with free minds and energy take the torch.

Only in your convoluted mindset would you not be able to accept someone who could diverge from your two party system.

Guess what Gramps its 2013 and we can embrace ideals from both parties. Step out of your two party time machine and look around.

I know its hard for you not to be able to pigeonhole someone but its the new reality.

I can support gay marriage and still want to reign in employee pensions... ooooooh scary thought huh?

As I have said before your politics is old and tired, like you. Maybe you could start unlocking Caper Acres mon- thurs???

The ole socialist doesn't think things will change?
They thought much the same in detroit......
Things will change and reform will come not because people want public employee salary/pension reform, but rather because there simply is no choice.
I find it very interesting thay retired/current employees are quick to throw their union bretheren under the bus rather than accept big cuts in salary/pension/benefits.
The massive layoffs are happening in the public sector for two reasons.
1. the private sector is tapped out in regard to higher taxes.
2. Current/retired public employees refuse to accept salary/benefit/pension cuts. there is only so much to go around.

$1 million funds 10 firefighters at a total cost of $100k each per year. But $1 million only funds 5 firefighters at $200k total cost each per year, and the other five get laid off.
simple math......and btw, the median salary in Chico is $36k per year. Some folks are veeeeerrrrrry greedy.

very well said.
the ole socialist is a relic from the 60's whose time is over.

Some of us can want to reign in public employee union excess and also not care if G/L are entitled to legal unions.
We can not give a sheiit about marijuana legalization and still be concerned about children's access to the drug....and.........
we can support a woman's right to choose and yet not want be forced to accept(or pay for) the fact that there are still full term abortions(infanticide) being performed.

Times have changed, but some continue to fan the flames of left vrs. right ideology. Gramps and teepee are the worst.
