Agreed. Dogs and cats with black coats are overlooked for the color of their coats, not their skin.
This has nothing to do with human race issues, and NAACP has better things to do with their time, money, and attention.

People really need to relax a little. Why can't this shelter run a promotion saying that "Black is Beautiful"? Isn't Black Beautiful? What kind of message are you trying to send by making such a big issue with this? I thought this was America, you know the Land of the Free. Why can't two different groups do two different types of things in the same week without causing a big stink about it?

Animals with black coats make wonderful pets. I have 3 black cats that I took in for the very reason that people don't want them because of some moronic superstition.

What, does the NAACP have a trademark on the color "black"? Any time any one mentions that color, in any context, they need to approve it? Adopting animals has nothing to do with race. Why should they care about this?

If nothing else, these poor NAACP victims (yes, I'm kidding) have just helped publicize the plight of black cats and dogs. Shelters and rescues have to do what they can on shoestring budgets. This promotion sounded like a great way to raise awareness of these wonderful pets.

So the fact that there are so many black animals in shelters, and they're usually the last to be adopted has "no basis in reality?" Well, no basis in THEIR reality, perhaps. We've known for a long time that these people are living in another world anyway. Maybe Jesse and Al can band together and take up this noble cause. It's obvious people are discriminating against the dogs because they're BLACK!(kidding again...)

This is just a bad coincidence and bad timing. June 19th(juneteenth) in Texas is a huge black holiday when the slaves in Texas found out that they were free..better late than never. Anyways, I don't see it as a big deal. Linder isn't as bad as other NAACP leaders though.
