As a visitor from Australia, I was moved and impressed with the Memorial Day ceremony held at The Veterans Plaza, Sun City, Georgetown that I attended on Monday 28th May. I think the speech done by Governor Perry was very appropriate for the service. His words to honour local heroes was good because as a former soldier of the Australian Army, I understand the mateship and sacrifices that our armed forces and allied comrades endure for peace and freedom for all to enjoy. I too salute all Americans who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces as our close allies since World War One. Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.
