I went to Sears in Georgetown today and they were closed.
What's up?

Read the papers, hon. Sears stores have been closing all over the place in the USA. It was all in the papers ours was closing weeks ago. Just like Fashion Bug. Just like Best Buy is going to and just like Radio Shack is going to and many many more...oh yeah J.C. Penney was one of them. There was a whole friggin list. While everyone was sitting on their asses buying cheap foreign products and refusing to insist on American made products, our country was sold down the river. All that is necessary is to look at labels. If it is not made here, go ask the manager if there is any American made stuff. If they say no, just walk out the door. American made products are there. USE THEM. They don't need to nuke us. All they need to do is walk in and take us. They already have all of our products. We will soon have no commerce, and all our food will be fake food by Monsanto. No one believes in the sanctity of marriage or even knowing who their children's fathers are. This ol' world is done, cowboys. Get ready for it. So now don't complain about there being no jobs either....those went with all our products. Even our dog food is all made in China and is poisoning our dogs. Stay away from Waggin Train and Milo's for sure, and Beneful.

Read The Paper, I get your point on products being foreign made.....but what does that have to do with the "sanctity if marriage"?! No one has taken away YOUR right to marry....so don't prevent others from doing it! Don't bother with comments about me being "gay" or a "lesbian" because you would be wasting your time! I am straight and happily married and I believe and fight for EVERYONE'S right to be married!!! It's seriously sad that there are still people that feel their marriage is threatened by someone elses marriage! It has nothing to do with our economy or where we are headed with our stores, food, etc.

I should also add the "sanctity of marriage" was ruined long ago by infidelity and divorce....not someone elses marriage ;-)

Don't put words in my mouth, dear. I am straight with two homosexual stepchildren. Instead of screwing around with everyone in the Cincinnati bars, I WISH they would get married. I said sanctity of marriage, not marriage between heterosexuals only. I am all for ANYONE making their union faithful and legal. The fact that it is not happening that way is further proof of why I feel like I do. We stopped respecting each other, our mates, our children, we stopped respecting the law, we got greedy and sat on our cans while our country sold us down the river and that is precisely what is wrong here and why we are losing this great country of ours. Pretty soon, someone else will "own" us and we will not have the rights those of us born around WWII remember that we fought so hard for. I have looked and looked to see where I said my marriage was threatened by someone else's marriage. What I am trying to say is for God's sake GET married and quit shacking up with everything that comes along on a rainy Saturday night. Our morals, our child rearing, the increase in drug use and fatherless children....it's all lulled us into this sense that we can do anything we want forever with no ramifications. I am very lenient toward gays, interracial marriage or anyone else that love each other. In fact, I would much rather see two people of the same gender in a committed relationship and raising a child than all this single parent baby mama/baby daddy drama. I can remember when you could actually go to jail for immoral behavior. And again I say without a model in the home of what a home should be, our children's children and thus our future are doomed. This is not to say a single parent cannot be a good parent. But baby it's hard. I was just listing a few things that have gone down the tubes in our America and now people are wondering why we are in this mess. Get it now? And trust me, when the morals of a nation begin to decay, the whole system of that nation fall apart. Look at Rome and others. We have already survived and prospered longer than most but I think our time is up. So relax. I wasn't attacking anyone's idea of marriage. I would never. I'm just saying there SHOULD be marriage or at least a legal contract of some sort, particularly where it pertains to children.

Sorry still getting a chuckle out of your post. I was complaining about the fact no one GETS married any more, not about whom they choose to marry. Never once said my marriage was threatened, but I do believe the moral fiber of our society is falling apart because of hedonism.

And I am sorry about the infidelity that ruined your marriage. This, too, further proves my point. No one wants to commit to anything any more. They just want to do what they want. I'm sorry that happened to you. It did me too but that was over 40 years ago so I'm over it. LOL.

Thank you for clarifying. I apologize if I took what you said out of context, I am just so used to defending same-sex marriage that when I see "sanctity of marriage" my defenses automatically go up and my mind in that direction, simply because I am such an advocate/supporter of it. I also believe that a lot of our problem is people not respecting themselves, however, who and how many people someone wants to sleep with is not my business. Do what feels right so long as you aren't hurting someone else, adults are fully capable of making their own decisions....so long as they are wise enough to protect themselves.
As far as my marriage, I was just making a general point. Happily married with no infidelity!

Seriously,
All I wanted to know was what happened to the Sears store. A simple answer about the subject would have sufficed.

No one really cares about your other crap that you decided to air in public. That is what is wrong with the world, trashy people like yourselves want everyone to know your business, Well, guess what? We DO NOT care.

Really: I don't know where I got that part about the infidelity. I must have just got through reading some other thread where someone complained about it. LOL.

Curious: I didn't see anyone airing dirty laundry. Really and I both said we had happy marriages. Oh wait, I DID say my step children were gay but they are in their 30s and I love them dearly. I don't consider them to be "dirty laundry;" I just wish they would get into committed relationships is all. I am certainly not trashy. At least I am up to date on what is happening in my own town, such as stores closing without going onto a website such as this one to find out.

As I stated before, All I wanted to know was if anyone knew why the Sears was closed. Obviously no one on this website knows why.

I really could care less about your viewpoints on life or anything else. A simple answer was all I wanted, not a life lesson.

Thanks and have a great day. Oh and by the way, I found out why the Sears store really closed, but I will keep that to myself.

Actually .....it closed because they couldn't find anyone to buy/take over it and they could no longer afford it.

I freaking TOLD you in my FIRST post why it closed. It's the stinking economy as I went on to explain about how our economy got like this. Some several hundred Sears closed all across the country and it was in all the papers. If you don't want to hear venting and rants, then don't ask economics questions in a gossip site. Jeeeeez. It closed for the same reasons all the other places are closed. No one will buy American and no one can afford to stay open and pay employees any more. You don't know any kind of secrets, you fool. It was in the Cincinnati papers and all over CNN. Have a nice day.

Lmao. Sounds like a nerve was struck there. By the way. How much stuff at sears is made in America anyway Don't get all sanctimonious about people not buying American made stuff. Probably most of the stuff in your house was made out if the country. Take a look I bet you will be soooo surprised
