I bought a camper and lot 3 years ago.For the first two summers we kept our kids close and didn't let them run around the campground. This past summer I let my kids start making friends with the some of the year round kids and other kids from the campground. Now my golf cart and my boat have been destroyed, burnt to the ground. My camper has been threatened with being burnt down too by some girl who was there as a guest of some scumbag that lives there.
My camper is for sale. I'll never bring my family here again. I'll be lucky to be able to sell my place looking at so many of the comments on here.
The shame of it is that the campground ownership is allowing all this to happen and yet I cannot sue the campground for their incompetance. My 21 foot $12,000 boat is gone, burned to the ground as well as my $3000 golf cart and my home and my nieghbors shed were damaged as well.
Saddest part is we had one of the nicest properties in the entire campground. In fact most folks never knew a waterfornt lot with such a beautiful view and a nice camper even existed in this place until some son of a bitch came down and torched my property. I paid cash for my p[lace, probaly three to four times what most campsites sell for in this place and for what? What did it get me except heart ache and a place I'll be lucky to ever sell.

I was going to buy a trailer/lot at Indian Acres since my husband is disabled and we (Srs on S.S.) have not been able to find anywhere we can afford with the little notice given to move. What is the deal with the water and sewage. How can you live in a park w/o either? Are there outhouses? Pumps for water to be drawn? What is the deal. There are no useful up to date posts. All I heard from the seller was that they turned water off from Nov end to Feb. in order that the pipes not freezes. Sounds shakey to me. He said it is your lot and you cannot be put out but...even so, how do you live w/o water & sewage? Someone LIVING in I>A> pls. respond. Also is it truly dangerous? Thank you.

Is this Indian acres in Thornburg or in Maryland? Are they owned by the same people? I found this on Google and may not have the same park although it seems to have the same problems. That is why I ask which it is.

You cannot live there all year. It is a campground. This Indian Acres is in Earleville, MD. It is outside Elkton MD. Have been there for over 28 years and we love it.Don't want to put blame on anyone for the problems they have there now, but I never had a problem until about 5 years ago. It's like everywhere else a few rotten apples in the bunch. Most people there are just wonderful.

The ownership here sucks. The lack of security would be a joke of we were not paying for it. I can only imagine from I have been reading on FB pages related to the campground what condition I will find my place in. Will my grill be there or did some junkies scrap it for the metal for drugs? Seems like anything made of any scrapable metal is being stilen and taken to the scrap yards foe drug money by yhe local junkies living in the campground illegally. Left to live there by the asholes that run the place. Maybe Bob should sell, he seems to not really give a crap about the place anymore

YOU CANNOT LIVE IN INDIAN ACRES FULL TIME. IT IS A CAMPGROUND. WATER IS OFF OCTOBER THROUGH END OF MARCH. You cannot stay more than 100 days in a row.

The Acres is a nice place to live but yes there are a lot of drunks and druggies but Security is around a lot more they drive around and check each and every glen to make sure there isn't any break in's. The job of Security is to help prevent this from happening it is not the kids that are doing it, it is grown ass men breaking in and destroying the homes many have been caught and arrested.

Now for only allowed to stay in the Acres it is the residents faults they made a big deal about buses coming in the acres to pick up the kids so they took it to the courts to have it changed doing so made someone look into the fact that people are living full time in a CAMPGROUND because it is a CAMPGROUND you are only permitted 150 total to live then you have to leave for a little while then you can come back. it is no ones fault but the ones who wanted the school buses to come in.

and as for not letting people in who do not live in there keeps trouble out and the crime rate down.

Security is free and there are a lot more of them to keep things from going on the one main problem is people bringing in the scooters that are not allowed unless they are tagged and insured. we have kids under age of 17 without a license driving golf carts the parents don't care. Security is tracking down the leads they have on each person breaking these rules and all rules. These persons are being fined a big amount and when it happens again then they will have a choice to make.

If you can not live there year round why does it still to this day happen? If the rules that are set were inforced correctly it would not. When the park shuts down for winter and people who are still there should be asked to leave. I understand you can come back in the winter to get away and you should be but the one's who stay should not be allowed. Just inforce the rules correctly problem would be solved but it has not been done.

The park does not shut down in the winter, the park is open year round, you just cannot LIVE there year round, 365 days per year. It is a campground and not for year round living. The idea that it was open year round was nice because you could get away when ever you wanted to go to your place, year round. The problem was people took advantage of this and bent the rules to try and LIVE there year round. They had 5 years to find an alternate residence and I believe that deadline is approaching. You can check with Cecil County or Bob Minnisale the Manager. Check the website at IndianAcres.net .
Indian Acres is still a great place to get away with your family, go swimming, boating, camping. It is a beautiful community and YOU OWN THE GROUND, there is no land lease, which is very unusual in this day. The yearly dues are only approx.$1500 per year and the water is free. Taxes are super low. There are a few pumping services in the community where they charge anywhere from $8-$10 for a pump out. The area surrounding Indian Acres has plenty to offer too, shopping, restaurants, boating, nightlife! you should check it out, lots of great fun for the family!

To the person from Havre De Garce ~ security is not free. It's paid for in the fees we pay to the campground. Golf carts & scooters ~ hahahaha. If that's the worst thing that ever happens it wouldn't be a bad place. But that's not the problem here. You have kids setting boats, golf carts and docks on fire right under the nose of the so-called security. Two boats in one summer burnt to the gound on their trailers just feet away from the homes they belonged at. Lucky they didn't burn the homes down too. Honestly, I wish one of them would burn my camper to the ground so I could at least get the insurance for the camper. I'll never be able to sell my camper and lot with the bad news this place produces.
