I have seen several posts about parents looking for daycare in Georgetown. I have posted this before, but I just want you to know that The Gingerbread Academy Daycare, located on Gano Avenue (in the downstairs of Safe Harbor Baptist Church) is an outstanding daycare. If you want your child to be in a structured learning environment (preschool age), you should give them a call. They accept ages 2 - 5. Their rates are very reasonable, the center is exceptionally clean, and very warm and inviting for children. The staff are great and very uptodate on early childhood education. Im not kidding friends, this is the best daycare I have ever had my child in. Check it out.

Thanks Dolly. Just enrolled my son there, he starts next week. Have heard nothing but good things about GA so far. Got great impression and really liked the whole staff on our visit. We have tried Abundant Care, Kids R Kids and 2 state certified in home sitters and have had probelms at each one. hopefully we have good luck with GA!!

If you've gone through 4 Daycares, maybe it's not the daycare that's the problem, it's your kid.

Oh why didn't i think about that before? Surely its the kids fault when a "caregiver" forgets to change diapers all day and causes severe diaper rash. Or when people are just too busy to feed a baby a bottle and just prop it up instead.

Its sad that things like that REALLY do happen. Even sader that people automatically assume its the kid. Thank you for you're expert advice! Parents everywhere can rest easy now, all this time it was our kids not the daycares and in home providers.

If you go through 4 cars in a few years it's the car's fault.

If you go through 4 marriages it's the other partner's fault.

If you go through 4 jobs in a few years it's the job's fault.

If you go through 4 daycares in a few years it's the daycare's fault.

Somehow I doubt the above is true.

If I owned a daycare, I wouldn't even consider taking a child that has been to 4 others before. If you have that much of a problem with the previous centers, then you as a parent are not doing a good job investigating the other locations before you enroll the child.

Turns out the spot was already taken anyways. Oh well, maybe its best that i just stay home with him anyways. Thanks everyone for the destructive criticism.

If you are interested in a great daycare try Kreative Kids. It has been in business for at least 18 years. The owner/director is wonderful. She doesn't do alot of advertising so you would not even know she exists. She is located behind the old Krogers in a duplex at the 4 way stop. The building has been converted into one unit. It is very nice and clean. She also is the cheapest in town but a place where you can leave your child and know that they are well taken care of. If you are looking for a warm and nurturing place for your child you should really check this place out. I have been in early childhood education for many years and I am presently a Director of a preschool program in Lexington. So if I did not believe in this daycare I would not promote it. Check it out and take your child. Most of the time you can tell by the way your child acts to whether or not to leave them. Good luck!
