yep, unlike someone like you that pretends he has hit the lottery because he has a job at toyota. i seriously doubt u came toyota for the EXPERIENCE! you were making a lot less somewhere and came to toyota for more MONEY. why cant you digest that others may want more from life??? why do you get to put the price on what amount makes someone happy with their lot in life??

Well I dont know who would b jealous of any toyota worker..i just started there as a temp..i was expecting fast paced hard working people who run to the parking lot on every break to f#@$ each other..according to topix..but all I found is a bunch of lazy ugly rednecks...slow boring work..with a bunch of inbred looking people..work is easy as hell..the work day test is much harder than working there

Hello from TMMC in Canada.

We finally got our pay raise. It's the first in over 3 years and it was announced while we were in full production prior to the Japan earthquake disrupting productivity.

Hold your breath....here it is....we got an increase of 10 cents an hour.

At first I felt insulted by the gesture and thought that it would have been better for them to have offered nothing at all rather than riling us with a 10 cent slap in the face.

After I calmed down I realized that this was probably an intentional mission statement by the corporation warning us not to nurture any expectations of generousity to be forthcoming in the future.

Welcome to the new reality of today...where the rich get richer and the middle class become increasingly marginalized.

Many plants have shut down in my area in the past 10 years. Some of them weren't actually losing money. They simply weren't making enough. How much is enough?

There is one serious flaw in this process. If the middle class disappears, who will buy the cars?

Tried to post this earlier but it didn't work. If this post shows up twice, I apologize.

mexico really appreciates the $4.00/hr they get also. sad to see people applauding how toyota takes advantage of poor economic communities! i guess you applauded wal-mart when they were buying goods from china that were made by children for dollars a day, working 16 hr shifts?

i certainly understand what you are saying and have no doubt you are a great man working hard to support your family. your comments are just sad to me because its proof of my thinking. people of (both ky and mississippi) have been down so long that they really would be happy with and settle for anything. the problem is...... this mentality is exactly what will keep them suppressed and behind the rest of the world till the end of time. the cars you build will require the same amount of effort required to build those in ky and they will generate the same amount of profit as those in ky, yet toyota will pay you a fraction of the salary to build them....JUST BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU WILL GLADLY ACCEPT IT! i do agree that there are not many jobs available there and regardless of the reasons people must do what is required to support their family. i would just like to think in time people would ban togather and demand fair and equal pay

Good for you, I hope it works out for you there. TM's at Toyota, like any other plant, deal with a lot of crap. Best advice I could give"and I know you didn't ask for it" is to live like your making $4 less per hour. Bank the $4 plus all the OT. Then if you decide it's not for you or your treated like shit, you can walk away for a better and lesser paying job. It's easy to get caught in the Toyota trap as we call it here. Be smart.
