My child attends GELC.......the investigation was closed...no evidence. It is an excellent place to send your children. We love it there. The teacher's and director really love children...you can tell.

MY BEST FRIEND WAS RAPED HERE IN G-TOWN, ALONG WITH FOUR ELDERLY WOMAN WHO LIVED IN THE NURSING HOME THAT SHE WORKED IN. I WAS THERE AS THE THIRD TIME HE HAD RAPED HER HE CAME WALKING OUT HER DOOR BUTTONING HIS BELT AS I WAS COMING IN.SHE WAS ON THE COUCH CLOTHES TORN,HALF DRESSED AND CRYING.(I WAS THERE!)BECAUSE HE LEFT NO SEMAN THERE WAS NEVER ENOUGH EVIDENCE AND THE CASE WAS CLOSED THIS MAN WAS MY NEIGHBOR FOR ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE MY PARENTS MOVED US AWAY.
DONT RISK PUTTING YOUR CHILDREN IN A SITUATION THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A BAD ONE. REMEMBER THE EVIDENCE DIDNT CONVICT O.J. SIMPSON EITHER BUT WE ALL KNOW HE DID IT.

that is quite possibly one the most horrible stories ive ever heard.but were talking about a daycare center .and a christian ran center no less.bad things happen and if you live in a bubble then you will be afraid of everyone .this world is not perfect.and people are cruel.but not everyone is a predator!and not every facility has a monster.i just feel sad for people like you that get on here and make comments of a situation at another facility, and cast them on another for no good reason.its sad!nor is it fair!

what is sad and not fair is that you are on here taking up for a "christian" facility instead of this child who has to now go thru there life believing that if bad things happen to them they should just keep it to themselves instead of telling because no one will believe them any way.a poor child who only knows somebody touched them and nobody is doing anything about it "becuse theres not enough evidence."and it can be prevented from happening to another child if this christian facility would do a little better background check and keep a closer eye on its child mollesters.or atleast keep a better eye on the children they are "suppose" to protect.

Christian doesn't stop someone from inner demons. The pope molested little boys didn't he? And he was supposed to be holier than anyone.

I couldn't agree more. I am so tired of people using religion to claim their innocence. I don't care if you go to church every day, if you abuse a child at daycare, steal money from your work, or abuse your own children, then you deserve to be punished. Claiming to be a Christian doesn't make what you've done go away. You commit the crime - you pay the time!

how unfair of you all!im not using there christian faith as copout!i simply said if you read any of it all,or understood what i was saying.that there are monsters out there, and this kinda thing does happen!and it is ashame that we live in this kind of society.but we do non the less.but your blaming a facility that is not to blame .there were no convictions and nothing to substantiate the accusations.if there is guilt then there wouldve been convictions.it just sounds to me that someone has it out for someone esle or someone is trying to establish guilt where guilt doesnt belong!so before you say that im standing behind the faith of a church read and comprehend the whole story.take your blinders off and step away from the tv and pay attention.ITS NOT THE FACILITIES FAULT NOR WAS THERE A CONVICTION GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!

Regarding background checks....I checked...Grace runs 3 or 4 checks that include local and federal agencies before being hired there. In addition, religion has nothing to do with why my daughter attends Grace. Yes, it's nice that God's name is included in her day at school..but I don't depend on a school to teach my child values. She attends Grace because they take excellent care of her. Values are definitely something that has to be lived and taught at home and I'm just really glad that it is continued once she goes to school. I agree there are alot of predators in this world and a parent should never completely let their guard down..but you can't go through life thinking that everyone is out to get you.

Hey, they found no evidence against the accused. Sounds like someone wanting to get a law-suit against a church that is growing leaps and bounds.

Children are not properly supervised there. This summer, older children (10-11 years old) were providing care for young children, with no adult present for periods of time. What if someone was injured? Or got sick? I would never send my children there.

You know this as fact because you saw it right? If you saw it, why didn't you turn them in to the proper authorities? Because it is against state regulations to have anyone in a supervisory role under the age of 18. If you didn't see it then don't spread false rumors. My daughter goes there and they are wonderful people!

The christian or catholic or any kind of faith doesnt mean that you are innocent. look at the catholics who molested the boye, even the pope. the georgetown police wont do anything. they need to step up there authority instead of patting everyone on the hand. CHRISTIANS ARE NOT PERFECT!!! I havent heard of the sexuality investigation until now. But it could of happened nobody knows except God! God Bless!!:)

Mike- unfortunately, I do know that as a fact, because I did see it, as did another individual on a separate day. I did call can report this to the proper authorities- child protective services. Now whether they accepted it as a referral and investigated, I don't know; I was told that could not be disclosed to me. This is a serious matter, and I would never spread false rumors.

I go to this church and my child attends Grace Christian Learning Center. I am also friends with several staff members. My daughter would not attend if I felt like she was not in good hands!! Get over it, Grace is a great church and provides excellent child care.

I want to be perfectly clear...I'm NOT saying anything bad about Grace Christian Center or their Early Learning Center. However, I am a parent as well and I would just like for you to hear me out about one thing. While they do run 3 or 4 background checks, every one of the thousands of sex offenders across this country have a first time. And, for each of the thousands of REGISTERED sex offenders in this country, there may be hundreds or thousands more who don't ever get caught or registered. I'm not saying this is the case at Grace because I don't know if it is or not.
