Too many kids on the bench.
Too many parents whining about their awesome child.
Too many political games.
Too many kids think they are the next MLB "star".
Too many parents tearing down the program.

Lack of good coaching.
Lack of sportsmanship as part of coaching.
Lack of character building and modeling by coach(es).
Lack of a winning team with the BEST kids on the team
Lack of parents supporting the team

Superintendent, Covington, McKee, and Willard all have hidden agendas.

Glad my kid is DONE with SCHS
Right on

How is it that a kid, who got kicked off the team this year because he was involved in all kinds of wrongdoing in Florida and has constantly been in trouble over the last several years, is allowed to play summer ball for Scott County? What kind of message are the coaches sending? And his dad was heard saying that he refuses to help with working concessions.

I can answer the question easily with one word....... WINNING.

Obviously the kid is a good player or he would not be allowed back on the team. The coaches feel he can help them win, so they allow him back on the team. If he didn't offer something good to the team, no way he would be given another chance.

On another note, sounds like the kid served his punishment for what happened in FLA. He sat out the entire season. He probably deserves another chance to be back on the team.

I agree that a player should deserve a 2nd chance, but he has been given numerous chances and he has repeatedly been in trouble the last several years in school, county league baseball and now high school ball. The message that's being sent out to other players is, "hey, no matter how much trouble I cause or get into, I will still be able to play sports and get away with whatever I want". It's time for him to grow up and understand that he is representing his school and team and show respect for his coaches and teammates and quit acting like a fool. Line has to be drawn somewhere and he keeps stepping across every line that is drawn before him.

It doesn't matter in Scott co what athletes do. All you have to do is read the paper and yet, AGAIN... Scott co student athletes doing awful, illegal things ( football camp ) and the school protects them.... They have lost all their fans in basketball, football and baseball is next be used they continue to employ coaches who teach respect . All they teach is winning and how to be thugs!!!

He really wants to be like MAC Whitaker at Harrison County. BIG difference, MAC is a WINNER, period.

He belittles them, he is disrespectful to them, if they try to speak to him about an issue he tells them to go figure it out themselves, he degrades them in front of the other players and trys to make each and every one of them feel like a piece of shit. He doesn't know how to coach baseball therefore they do not have a winning team. You can't scream at the boys and expect them to listen. Constantly telling them they suck is not the way to make a kid a better player. There is NEVER any positive feedback. He is unapproachable to the players and if a parent were ever to say anything to him your kid will not play, EVER...does that give you enough explanation?

You obviously do not know what you speak of, and you've not been to a basketball game in many years if you think they've lost fans. The hoops team is extremely popular and there is nobody who can complain about the way the boys hoops program is run.

Y'all have to be friggin stupid!

This is the LARGEST high school in the state of Kentucky and we can't win a title in baseball?

Are you saying ONE kid is the KEY to WINNING? Bull.

Willard, Covington, McKee have all the kids they could possible want to choose from and they still can't win?

What does this say? It says BAD COACHES who kiss butt so they aren't fired by the crazy superintendent who is afraid of parents complaining.

We have all seen schools with LESS kids win region and state and they have GREAT coaches.

This is so true...it's very sad! The coaches are only worried about kissing butt with certain kids for some reason. I haven't figured it out yet. The ones that continuously get in trouble are allowed to play and it just doesn't make sense. Kids who are not passing were allowed to play this past year as well. I crazy superintendent has had her fill of complaints this year and still nothing has been done. Willard is still coaching. Someone has got something on someone...wish we could clean up SC sports to ALL kids have a fair shot at playing sports and not just a select few. In football your name has to be McKee...baseball, haven't figure out what the key to that is yet...oh wait, yes, I remember now, you have to be the coaches son. COACHES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO COACH THEIR OWN KIDS!

Heard a rumor that One of the seniors, who was caught stealing in a mall in Florida 2 years ago, stole a golf cart at the baseball facility, and trashed one of the rooms, was arrested recently. Anybody else heard this rumor?

Gtwn News Graphic in November reported him being arrested for DUI and no or expired insurance, i'm sure his parents and coaches are thrilled.

I knew he would never change. I would almost bet that he'll be back on the baseball team this year and shouldn't be.
