The aircraft was an OH-58 Kiowa, also known as the Bell JetRanger. A superb aircraft with a fine track record of getting it's crew on the ground safely.

Good work Pilot!

"has led to everything from booby-traps to shootouts"

Shootouts? Give me a break. It's another government program trying to justify it's existance.

Might have been different had this one had one of those funny looking balls on the top, you know, like on the military version.

Does anyone else see this as a total waste of law enforcement money in the first place? I garden near that area and if it is too early for tomatoes and melons due to frost isn't it a little early to go "looking for pot farms" in the middle of April? How many real crimes were in progress during this collosal waste of our money?
