Lake Co. head shop denied license

A business license has been denied for a "head shop" proposed for an Ingleside intersection that is near a church and a middle school .

gas stations sell glass pipes bongs crack pipes all through out lake county. on route 59 the smoke zone is less than a 1/4 mile from grant highschool and a church. Why put a liquor store there when there is 2 bars next door. By the way all glass products are supposed to be used with tobacco or legal smoking herbs they are not for drugs unless you choose to do them!!!!!!!!!!

I am a collector of glass pipes and bongs. These are works of art, and if I choose to smoke a little herb, well thats my business. These sort of places are legit and not selling anything I cant get across the border 24/7. These item can also be used to smoke pipe tobbacco which is legal. Some of these politicans need to get their heads out of their ass and worry about why we are cutting police and Lake County funding and leave the small guys trying to make a living alone.

I disagree with both A glass blower and Taxpayer Patron since I live a block away from where this person want to start his headshop. I do not want it in my neighborhood. We finally got rid of a drug dealer after ten years of effort. We do not need the problems that this business will bring. There is enough drug problem in Long Lake that we do not need another.

Why don't you care if there's a bar across from the high school if you're such a "concerned" citizen? Do you not care if some drunk plows into kids leaving school?

Clearly, in spite of your claims, you don't care all that much if people are intoxicated and driving because the chances that people would become intoxicated at a bar are infinitely higher than the chances of them becoming intoxicated at a legally sanctioned head shop, which would be under a lot of scrutiny. So you can say what you want to fool yourself into what you want to believe, but the facts don't bear out your rhetoric. You might have your opinions, but they're obviously not sustained by any kind of logic, sense or fact.

Do us a favor, stay in Chicago with your opinion. You, and the rest of these clowns do not even live in Lake County, let alone the southern part of Long Lake. My concern is with what happens in my own neighborhood. Fox Lake can take care of itself. As for headshops, who really needs them? We don't and all my neighbors agree on that!

I live in Long Lake idiot. My IP address changes periodically. Lived in Long Lake for 30 years. The State's Attorney is shutting the owner completely down, and Fox Lake is investigating allegations that he is a drug dealer from the other location.

And to prove that I do live where I stated. Road Crews were repairing the south bound lanes on U.S. 12 today just north of Rt 134, the tree trimmers were on Il Rt 134 on the East Bound Lanes from Wilson Road to Fairfield. And right now at 5 pm it is raining with thunder and lighting. Ahhh, another great day in Lake County!

By the way, the owner of the closed headshop is from Woodstock, a has-been hippy that thinks its still the 60's and 70's!

Well, if you so good then you should know all about what other drugs can kill. Are you that stupid that you can not do your research properly? If I was you, I would get my money back.
