DO NOT RENT FROM COPPER MTN
They will completely scam you out of your security deposit, even if your place is immaculate. They tack on bogus charges hoping that the tenant won't notice or wont care to make a complaint. When my roommate and I complained about being wrongly charged, we were told, "we will not refund your money, we are a for profit business and we will mark-up charges to keep our lights on and our staff paid."
Also, Stacey, the property manager will not answer your calls, not call you back, and not remember anything you discuss with her.

Thanks...sounds like it's getting worse all over. Increasingly (btw), motels across the country are requiring credit cards to rent a motel room. This is wrong for so many different reaosns, but as regarding your experience, it makes it that much easier for people to be charged services unfairly. There are many experiences on-line of people writing about how they were charged for extra nights stayed at a motel when they only stayed one night, etc.

I have lived at Southgate for over a year and it has been great. The only issue I have had is with the parking. SOmetimes other peoples visitors park in my spot. I call Copper Mountain and they have been out twice to tow the cars. Too bad for them. Copper Mtn has come out and fixed my dryer the next day when it broke and when I called and asked for copies of paperwork they had them ready when I showed the next day. It has been great

I got my security deposit and it was returned there 100%. They didnt charge me for anything I didnt mess up or that they didnt tell me about when I moved in. They have always responded to my calls within 24 hours and I have called to have someone towed out of my spot at midnight and they showed to sign the paperwork. I think they have done an excellent job.

Copper Mountain is above and beyond the worst property management in Bellingham. For starters, they will never answer the phone. Their business appears to be run through their cell phones, and they seem to constantly screen their calls. You can always leave a voicemail, but don't expect a call back for at least a week (unless of course you're calling to rent/buy a unit, in which case they will call you back within minutes). Our security deposit was subject to ridiculous fees and cleaning charges, even though the apartment was left very clean. Out of a $1,100 security deposit, only $580 was returned. No cleaning was necessary and there wasn't any damage that was done to the unit!

I've rented through Windermere, Apex, and Chuckanut, and I would HIGHLY recommend any of them over Copper Mountain in a heartbeat. If I were could give someone the best advice in the world, it would be to look both ways before crossing the street, and NEVER rent from Copper Mountain in Bellingham.

P.S. The two positive reviews on this website are fake. Google copper mountain bellingham and read the insiderpages reviews. Lucas seems to be a popular name...

DO NOT RENT OR WORK FOR THE CROOKS, The owner DEREK will cheat you out of your deposit, even if the place is cleaner than when you moved in, AND if you work for him you will become his slave for barley minimum wage, he has a very nasty temper, call you name, swears and is a total JERK.....read the Better Business reports, their grade is an "F". it stands for F@$# over...

I have never seen a worst company in all my life!When I moven in the place was in need of cleaning,when I left the place was cleaner than when I found it.I was screwed out of my deposit and told that this place has to make a profit somehow,and its by screwing its renters.

Do not rent from this company or you will get screwed!Everyone that I know that have lived in their company ran apartments are very unhappy with the place and all of these people were screwed out of their deposits.Rent elsewhere or you will also be a an unhappy tenent.

OOOOOOOO I am interested, I had my rent money stolen, fake leases made, fake recipe given to me!!!! I am highly interested. I have waited my 14 days for these ass to give me back my security deposit.......I am interested!!!!!!!!

File a small claims lawsuit against them in Bellingham, that's what I did. It will take time to get your money, but if you have an organized case and don't whine to judge, you will find they are very helpful. I still don't have my settlement. I would be happy to provide a written testimony for you.

Your written testimony would be awsome. I got a call today and was informed I would not be getting my deposit back and I was confused. I listened to her yack and was like whatever. She said that she saved me at least a thousand dollars.....whatever. Too bad there isn't an attorney that would make a big case against this company, they have screwed soooo many people. You know from the time Brian left the Isabella until August 09 I have not see any carpet cleaner companies there, and this past August has been the first time in a long time.

Every negative comment here is true. I left my apartment spotless, even though it was very dirty when I moved in. I got back 13% of my large security deposit. The bogus charges amount to nothing but fraud. "Dumbass" is JUST THAT. "Lucas" and "I Love Copper Mtn" are obviously friends/relatives of the Copper Mtn/Stebner family. The Better Business Bureau has given Copper Mountain an "F" rating. You don't get an "F" if you are an honest, legitimate business!
