"Sawsan Salim lodged a series of complaints in 2007 at government offices and in court in the northern region of Qasim in which she alleged harassment by local officials, the New York-based rights group said. She was sentenced in January on charges of making 'spurious complaints' against government officials and appearing 'without a male guardian'..."

Yeah yeah. Here's some others for your collection of pain....
.
U.S. STATISTICS
Fact #1: 17.6 % of women in the United States have survived a completed or attempted rape. Of these, 21.6% were younger than age 12 when they were first raped, and 32.4% were between the ages of 12 and 17.(Full Report of the Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey,

Fact #2: 64% of women who reported being raped, physically assaulted, and/or stalked since age 18 were victimized by a current or former husband, cohabiting partner, boyfriend, or date.(Full Report of the Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey,

Fact #3: Only about half of domestic violence incidents are reported to police. African-American women are more likely than others to report their victimization to police Lawrence A. Greenfeld.(Violence by Intimates: Analysis of Data on Crimes by Current or Former Spouses, Boyfriends, and Girlfriends. Bureau of Justice Statistics Factbook. Washington DC: U.S. Department of Justice. NCJ #167237. Available from National Criminal Justice Reference Service.)

Fact #4: The FBI estimates that only 37% of all rapes are reported to the police. U.S. Justice Department statistics are even lower, with only 26% of all rapes or attempted rapes being reported to law enforcement officials.

Fact #5: In the National Violence Against Women Survey, approximately 25% of women and 8% of men said they were raped and/or physically assaulted by a current or former spouse, cohabiting partner, or date in their lifetimes. The survey estimates that more than 300,000 intimate partner rapes occur each year against women 18 and older.(Full Report of the Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey,

I'm glad our country keeps statistics on this and that western men protect their women by jailing offenders. And we keep it fair, if a woman batters a man, she is arrested.

But to say a muslims woman can't leave the house alone because a muslim man will molest her...well that's just stupid!

You can't use these statistics in your arguement. You can't have it both ways. If you say i can't use statistics to do with children being hit by cars around the world, when you claim that the Israely driver deliberatly ran over a child, then you can't use statistics from America to do with assaults on women.

This just proves More and more that your Biased, Hands down.

Besides, Did you know that 69% of all Truths statistics are made up on the spot. LOL

I can put it back on topic,in a fun way.

A couple of weeks ago I was in a paltalk room and a muslim guy posted the same link to the same story from Feminist. com. to try to say western women are treated worse than Islam women.

But he doesn't read or browse the web site..Its has dozens of articles condemning the treatment of women in Islamic country's...now the same guy runs from this link

I agree with you guys here in that this sentence is extremely harsh for such a mundane task as going out alone. Then again this is Saudi. It's not the embodiment of Islam, it's just a harsh beduin country that applies a very harsh interpretation of Islam, which is why you hardly see a problem with muslim women out alone in other countries.

Do you understand my whole point? This women call as blame rape victim. Saudi define blame rape victim as woman, who don't wear proper hijab. Then she got rape cuz not guard her modesty, by not wearing proper hijab.
Secular country define blame rape victim as drunk woman who flirting with da dude in the club, and then invite da dude to her apartment. And get rape! Clear? This woman also got rape cuz not guard her modesty. But the term of guard modesty, is in the whole different context.
How bout Saudi redefine again their, blame victim and rape victim in their law dictionary? What would happen?

Could you imagine that type of punishment in our country? I am so glad we have the freedom to be able to go where we please, when we please without having to ask permission (except if one is a child.. so that parents dont worry).

But a punishment of 300 lashes for not being with a male relative.. oh please... how do they come to such amounts for this so called crime?

What would happen if the women had no male relatives what so ever... must she stay inside her whole life?
