Oh Please!! Have you ever seen Moran in the courtroom??? He is totally all theatre - could win an emmy!! Anything he does or says is strictly theatrics, for political gain and because he likes hearing himself. His jury's are full of people that are related to or have, themselves, been put in jail by him, therfore afraid to go against him. I can't wait until he gets voted out and we have someone who truly would like to bring good to the county.
I have never seen a jury selected by those related to Moran, never have I ever seen a convicted person(s) on a jury either. Moran is not theatrical, rather, practical. Say what you want, but I think the message is getting heard loud and clear.

Not related to Moran, but rather related to someone that Moran has convicted. Now I hope you get the message - LOUD and CLEAR.

Whatever, obviously he is a good DA, because he has this job for a really long time, and if you have such a problem with him, perhaps you should take it up with the appropriate officials. Saying that he picks the jury is BS, because the lawyers on BOTH sides do that. Not to mention, the defendents have rights as to who serves on the jury and who does not, secondly, if the so-called people you refer to as the the relatives of those Moran has indicted, then perhaps they should tell the truth on the juror questionaire (when it asks if you have or someone you know has been convicted of a crime. Thats self-explanatory in your reasoning, isn't it?

Saying that they know someone does not excuse them from the jury. In fact, someone on a jury that has someone close that has been prosecuted by Moran (or under investigation by his wife or his co-workers Sheriff York or Judge Cohen) can work very well in Moran's favor if they are the type than can be intimidated by him.(seen it happen). If you read the papers, he uses alot of scare tactics when describing people he is prosecuting to the media ("they'll eat him up alive"; "the worst criminal this county has ever seen", etc). In fact, some of his comments in the Livingston County News have been laughable. He's getting to be "old hat" and predictable with his dramatics. He's been in there so long because his term is too long. That should be adjusted by the county. When it gets to be that almost everyone that gets called for jury duty has had some dealings with the DA in one way or another, it says that he's had the position too long - time for a change!!

Well, hate to break it to you, but as I sat for potential jury duty, I saw many excused because they had family members convicted of crimes. I guess you should continue living your beliefs and I will live mine, after all had this been your child that died, and knew that this was not the first incident at SUNY Geneseo, would you not want the DA to press charges? These college kids not only drink like fishes , but they run the whole town when they are there and act very unruly when out in public. Perhaps to help stop it all, the parents should stop and see for themselves what there brats are doing, as I am positive they were not raised to act the way in which they do, which resulted in this untimely death of a promising student. keep up your campaign of criticizing authority, you will defitenely go places with that theory that Moran, and the judges are corrupt.

Bring the drinking age back down to 18 where it belongs. Kids binge because it's the "forbidden fruit" Whoa - we're breaking the law man! Drink up!

It's unfair of you to categorize all college students as brats and unruly. The DA has not set a good example for them either. And it's unfair of you when someone questions someones integrity to assume they question all authoity. Don't be so narrow minded - your DA could be corrupt and you have the right to question that at all times. If people don't question our elected officials, they get too relaxed in the position and take many initiatives that are not permissible. And by the way, what about the cases that the DA screwed up in which some poor child was killed, or the innocent people he has sent to jail? Do the backrground check then don't forget to vote in November!

I am sorry, I did not mean to label all colleges tudents as brats, but most are. As in any job, screwups are made, which is why they have lawyers to get them out to prove they are innocent. Because as you know when one goes to trial, it is their burden of proof to PROVE they are innocent, it is not the DA's job to do that. During the elections, I would vote for Moran again.

Does Tom Moran realize he has a family to take care of and shouldnt be binge drinking?...he already cries about posibly losing his DA position and crying about money. what a joke he is the sorriest excuse for a DA. His wife is a sorry excuse for a woman. try laying off the crack maybe it will clear your face up. Why dont you ask Tom Moran how he got that nice SUV he is driving? Drug dealers cant benefit from their profits but THOMAS MORAN can?...lol lol lol why doesnt he just realize that NO ONE likes him as a DA or a person. Maybe instead of binge drinking he should try laying off the coke too. Ease up on people too thomas.....people make mistakes in life and one of the biggest mistake the whole county made is keeping you as DA but hopefully people will change that. Oh lets try wiping that dirty smerk off your ugly face too. believe me no one wants to see it. when you have college kids turning you down cause your trying to get in someone's pants thats sad....go home to your kids.

Maybe all their parents should buy them the booze and send them down to the wooded area on rt256 in Sparta for some responsible drinking! Or they can just bum some booze from the 16 year olds and younger!

What I saw in the replies were those who are for responsibility and those who were not and they were easy to figure out because they were the name callers.

I have seen many Drug/Alcoholics in my life and when you tried to take away their drug/alcohol they all got nasty! They also claimed it was their right to be that way, but they never considered what costs everyone else pays. Like Geneseo pays for the Ambulance Calls.

Maybe from now on they should start billing these fraternities and the students and everyone else who they are called out for when alcohol is involved!

So by making it legal for 18 and up, how then do you propose to stop those under 18 from doing the same thing, one difference is they most likely do not belong to fraternities!
