Rochester-area liquor stores, supermarkets fight over right to sell wine

I think we need to keep the wine at the liquor stores. This is how the liquor stores stay in business. If they only can sell liquor, they'll close up. The super stores put enough people out of business. Leave the liquor store owners alone. I'm sure they would like to be able to sell cheese and crackers but they leave that to the grocery stores

Just D I AGREE with you all the way. Big stores like Wegman's, WalMart and Tops are causing small business to close, because basically they have everything and people rather make a one stop than 2 or more. Leave the small business sell the wine!

When you put it that way, it makes more sense to keep it in the liquor stores. Good points, didn't think of it that way!

I applaud your interest in current events and topics. I find it refreshing that as a teen you spend time, at least some time, away from stuff like myspace. I don't think that personal attacks against you due to your age are justified. They definately don't demonstrate common respect. Although you may be young that doesn't automatically disqualify you from deserving respect

To those who want to live in the past...
At one time, you had to go to a different store for meat, fish, bread, fruit & vegetables, dairy items...

Then along came the supermarket/grocery store where everything was under one roof...

Adding wine is no different... sure, maybe some wine shops will close due to inefficiencies, but that's how our economy operates... Much like Darwin, it's survival of the fittest...

The bad ones should fail... the good ones will adapt..

After reading posts from everyone (in general) I can't say that what she has posted seems any "less" respectful than other bloggers. My point is in supermarkets teens sell their friends beer just cos it's ok to them, in a liquor store the won't do that

so i say only sell it in the liquor stores not markets

after all that boy died from alcohol probably bought from a place where they sell kegs

I am a drunk and proud of it God damn it!!! I pulled a 3.6 last semester in college and own my own place, full time work, full time school. Wegmans, Liquor stores, wherever I can buy it, they should be able to sell it. U pple should lighten up and have a beer for God's sake!! It might do u both some good!!!
