<< More people are running for election against county commissioners on a platform hammering the incumbents for giving themselves a 25 percent pay raise than actually spoke out against the raise at a public hearing last year. >>

That's because they were at work.

<< Reinhardt said. "It's a 50- to 60-hour-a-week job, and I supported it. I'm not going to run away from it." >>

No, it's not. It is a PART TIME JOB. It is not supposed to be full time.

The problem with Reinhardt is that she is a professional bureaucrat, not a representative of the people. She is also a hard-core liberal who thinks the government should 'do something' about every problem. She does not recognize any limits to government intrusion into our lives and wallets.

With the exception of Rettman, this group of takers is pathetic. Call it what it is: a nest of political hacks (that includes most of the staffers) who collect checks, all the while they do political organizing and self promotion on the job. In a different place and time this would have been called unrestrained corruption.

These filth are the same people that will stall any raise for county employees by dragging negotions on and on for months past contract expiration dates, they are the same ones that complain there isn't money in the budget, yet they will seek labor endorsement, and AFSCME will gladly endorse these hipocrits. Suddenly, once in office there is money to vote themselves raises!
Somehow the voters keep electing them.

It fried me when I heard Fletcher hired an outsider, Lydon, and made him a commander. There were plenty of quailified Deputies in the ranks. Keep trying to take over the county, Your showing your true colors. Will lydon give the money back if elected? Hell no! Look up his pay on the links provided on the pioneer press web site. He'll take a pay cut...It must be a power grab, then...

I thought Dubya was an oil man? Oh, that's right. He ran a successful baseball team. George Sr was also a successful businessman.

These Commissioners wlfully fail to quiet titles to realestate, taxing us to death, raising their own pay, as business can be done at Home on PC's, accepting False Ratifications by the City DSI based on Theft, Trespass, Treason, to steal Candidates Cars,Propertys now over 20 yrs.

From the article: "Bennett defended his vote. "The things that *I've* done to help the county,*I* bet *my* salary would have been paid several times over in money *I've* saved the county," he said. "Maybe this is a good thing. It drew a lot of opponents, and *I* didn't have any last time." "

Commissioner Bennet, you are a self centered child.

I also work 50-60 hours a week, like you claim. Can I give myself an arbritary 25% raise without asking my boss?

Hey commissioners, If that's all it takes to 'earn' yourselves a 25% raise, maybe you can take another look at your 911 operators, who sit in the same room and answer the same phones as their (former) St Paul counterparts, but earn 25% less. Maybe you could even things out a bit.

Is any one reporter of person county how many times Ramsey County deputies run for elected office?
There are TWO in this stew of candidates. And it's certainly happens so often with local races within the borders of The Sherriffs turf that someone should be looking into it.

Go figure, here we have some more moron politicians so wrapped up in
them selves and not giving any thought or concern to the public that
had elected them to represent them with good conscience and judgement.
WELL! we found out, that's not going to happen. The only thing that
drives these politicians is; Greed, Ego and self importance. If the
voters would realize to never vote incumbent for it's not a job that
requires any skill or special knowledge, and the longer they're in
the more they really think they are special, and it's the voters fault for
allowing this to happen.

I usually don't get too excited when public officials obtain a Cost Of Living Allowance (COLA) increase, but 25%? I am NOT a tax whiner, but granting themselves a raise of this size when unemployment is up, and private-sector wages are stagnant seems COMPLETELY OUT OF TOUCH with the reality of those they "represent."

I will carefully scrutinize the opposition candidates, and if there are some who have more going for them than mere outrage, I will vote for them. That splattering sound you hear is my loyalty cascading onto the pavement!
