Can we the public get the names and mug shots of these 18 thugs so we can be on the lookout for them? You know the 18 so lock them up for the whole weekend so the puplic will be safe.

Good thinkin, Minneapolis guy! Actually though, there's some people on this side of the river that are supportive of finding creative ways to prevent gang violence in our neighborhoods (we know the what the Minneapolis way is...) and actually support what Choi is doing!

I like the idea of being proactive with these worthless gangs that ruin the city of St. Paul - keep up the good work. Another way we can all help to rid us of these scumbags is to conceal and carry - I do.

I conceal and carry too, and I don't let those silly permits get in my way.

In regards to Proactive's post, conceal and carry is for YOUR protection, not "to rid us of these ****." Unless they attack you or yours, you aren't gonna do anything, stupid. It's the "wild west" hot-shots like you that give other conceal carriers a bad name. Try keeping your hot-shot comments to yourself.

Why are you worrying about this since you haven't left my basement in years? By the way, your father and I would appreciate it if you'd mow the yard this weekend.

Both the gangs mentioned in the article and the conceal and carry nuts on this board are a sad comment on our ability to be civilized. This should be a safe, family friendly festival celebrating a vibrant community. A community nearly obliterated by the misguided "urban renewal" and reckless construction of Interstate 94. We know why gangs form. We know community activities strengthen communities. And many of us would rather see better education, better parenting, and better community planning instead of the wild west shoot 'em or lock 'em up mentality. And you'll find that trouble has everything to do with socio-economic factors and nothing to do with racial or ethnic factors.

Maybe we need the "wild west" where good people take the law into their own hands for a period of time once again, and clean up the streets. The police and courts are hamstrung with political correctness.

. I really never liked guns and served in the USMC, big shot...my 15 year old daughter was raped by a 23 year old Norwegian so I took a gun class and learned all about the law. She received threats at school from his young associates until they were warned that it was serious to interfere with a felony. I hope you can experience this and see how you feel. One thing I learned in class was you have to be prepared to use it if necessary and I'm ready, believe me. So get off your lectuing pedestal dink and know where I'm coming from. Wake up to what's going on out there.

Khaliq on using court orders against alleged gang members "it's only been used for events of color".........could that be because THEY ARE THE EVENTS THAT ATTRACT THESE SCUM??? Could that possibly be the answer khaliq? Or is that just once again using too much common sense?

Mr. Khaliq plays the race card about the ban issue. I have yet to hear him utter one word about the No Snitching doctrine in his community. Your community is killing each other and you find fault in actions to prevent further bloodshed!
