Readers offer a variety of praline recipes

There are 1 comment on the Sunherald.com story from Aug 29, 2007, titled Readers offer a variety of praline recipes. In it, Sunherald.com reports that:

“A second recipe can, I think, be adapted using pecans instead of almonds, if desired. Hope this helps those who were requesting.”

Several weeks ago, Debra Wells of Biloxi asked for that recipe. Her grandmother used to make them, and, as often happens in families, no one has the recipe. via Sunherald.com

Hey, I just found a recipe for pralines in an old
cook book from 1935. The Household Searchlilght Recipe Book.

1 Cup Light Brown Sugar 1/2 lb. Chopped Pecans
1 Cup Sugar 1/4 Cup Water
1 Tablespoon Butter

Combine susgar, water, and butter. When mixture begins to boil rapidly, add pecans. Boil, stirring constantly, until mixture forms large bubbles on top and looks sugary. Remove from fire. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-buttered marble slab or platter.(Ocean Springs Native)
Enjoy!
